I can not see the new center in Brooklyn ever being a threat to MSG.  The old Meadowlands and other places in NJ never became threats.  There is only one "The World's Most Famous Arena"!

I can envision us playing an early season doubleheader in Brooklyn:  St. John's vs. St. Francis and LIU playing some other local team.

While you may be right about the Garden vs Barclays ( but don't put it past Dolan destroying anything ) don't ever compare anything about Jersey to Brooklyn.

Making money is a way of keeping score a measure of success, the Russian will win it the NBA and not lose money Yes I'm telling you he care amout money. What  or who is an independent right now no one but that mean exactly nothing. When you have a house team being an independent has an advantage in scheduling. If your running doublereader your looking for the  elite  team having independent facilitates scheduling. Interesting you have taken to speaking for MSG. MSG wants SJU until there is an alternative which will produce greater revenue.

What is this business re: redmen.com?

He's asking you what name (handle) you use on RM.com. I think it is the same one you use here - Schermerhorn Street. Isn't it ?

Its not a world secret.  I was simply asking trying to gauge what they wrote here vs. there as there were some similarities.

It's ok to ask but they don't have to tell.

Of course not.  I didn't push it.  I asked once and he didn't answer.

I did not think I was comparing NJ with Brooklyn.  I was voicing my opinion that despite J. Dolan and his follies, MSG still ranks as the center stage for BB in the area, if not the country.  I was also hoping that they would build a whole new MSG.

Being a former (of that is possible) Brooklyn Boy, I have always known that Brooklyn was (and is) a special place.  I enjoyed reading Marv Albert's interview on-line in one of the Sunday papers, about the golden oldies. Boy, has he been around.

The 1 thing I like is the 4 local teams in the Holiday Festival.

Question. IS there some sort of rule about having 2 teams in the same conference face each other in these tournaments? Say it was a 2 day thing, and both Rutgers and St Johns advance to face each other?

I don't think it can happen in a tournament besides the NCAA or post season NIT.

Would be highly unusual for more than one team from the same conf to be invited to a tourny but highly doubt there is rule against the teams playing.

The NCAA may not have a rule but the individual conferences might have rules their members have to follow.

Let's face it, the Holiday Festival has run its course.  I'm not sure if it is because good teams refused to come or we refused to schedule good teams but attendance has been dreadful in the last few years to this tournament.  I'm sure these teams will be a better draw than Davidson/Northwestern/St. Francis.
