Wait this is for this upcoming year?
I was more interested in you saying Rutgers would be Top 5 in 12/13 and was curious where you had STJ there?

A year from today you'll get that prediction, I'll keep you in suspense until then. But you can expect both SJU and Rutgers top 5

That's fine.  You made it sound like Rutgers would be 'ahead' of STJ at that point.  I just can't see that.  What you said here makes more sense to me.

I expect both to make a huge jump in 12/13. I think Biruta will be the best big in the conference, maybe even this year

I would switch us with rutgers and put us both ahead of west virginia. My other prediction is that depaul will win 5 big east games

Oriakhi is better than Biruta now.  Quite a few others too.  Biruta is tough and real solid inside but needs a lot of work and is crazy foul prone.  He's also not really a "big" per se, more of a PF.  In addition, for him to be the best big in the conference he needs to rebound.  He wasn't among the top 20 rebounders in the conference last year.  I like the kid a lot though.  I just think that the conference has a LOT of good players up front coming in that will make it a lot tougher o. Biruta like Gilbert, Birch, Benahan, Christmas, Pelle, GG, Daniels and others.

I don't know about Biruta.  He came in with lots of accolades but hasn't really knocked me socks off.  His first game vs. us he had 2 pts and 4 boards and didn't look good at all.  That was like a rough 4-5 game stretch he had.  Then in the BET game vs. us he had 10 and 8 but I thought he was getting away with bloody murder down low.  Then again we know the refs helped us in the end.  I know its just 2 games in person and he didnt average 10 and 6 by accident as a freshman.

Don't forget that skinny freshman last year at SU Keita more than held his own. If he gets stronger, no reason why he can't somewhat replace Rick Jackson's production.

Am I correct in having Nova in the  middle of the pack? Should they be higher or lower? I think their season depends on what kind of player Wayns becomes

IMO, nova could be in for a difficult season per their normal standard.

Villanova will be interesting next year, they need one of their bigger kids to have a break out season.

Is Pinkston even on the team anymore..?

If they are depending on Wayns I think they will be in trouble.  I think Cheek and Bell are the ones who need to step up.  But watch out in 12/13 and 13/14.  They have no seniors and bring in that loaded class in 2012.

You had to have watched Keita to see his impact.
First of all, he was a freshman, so forget the numbers.

Like Polee there were games where he didnt play well or much,
but he's very athletic, and he'll make a big jump in 11-12.

Wait for it. You heard it here.

I like your bullish predictions.  I watched plenty of games and I never saw an impact.  Numbers don't lie.  I actually recall watching a game vs. Nova where he was whistled for back to back lane violations.  That was quite funny.  That being said they might need him with Melo a question mark.

I agree very strongly with you. He needs to make a little more impact in the scoring column, but everything else indicates that he'll be a real factor - at least on defense. And the Orange have so much scoring talent otherwise... it would be nice for them if one of Melo/ Keita/ Christmas could generate some offense inside, of course.

Keita's a player. Inconsistent, but a player.
