Scout.com story looks promising for SJU. Kamal Yard says that because of proximity SJU and SU have moved to the forefront.

Then proceeds to talk about how SJU is only 1 1/2 hours by train and he loved Lavin and Chiles.

Says he will probably commit early but sign late.

Also mentions RU and Temple but does not say anything additional about them.

Syracuse got a committment today from Ron Patterson. He is a 6'3 guard from Brewster who was once committed to Indiana. Could bode well for our chances with Rysheed.

Everything I've heard has Cuse land Patterson OR Jordan.  Cuse still has carter-Williams, Gbinje and now Ennis and Patterson.  There's no way this doesn't help as I think Patterson was in lieu of Jordan.  Cuse will concentrate on forwards now methinks.  It also has to help from Rysheed's perspective as they just added 2 guys that are similar size and skill set as Jordan.

Hope you are right. BTW, Patterson is fully qualified.

Patterson is not just fully qualified he is fully qualified for this year before he did a prep year.

I think Cuse pursues Roberson next.

As of right now looks like it comes down to STJ or Temple.

Well see how this unfolds.

Sign early or sign late? that's the question facing the nation's top remaining point guard Rysheed Jordan.

Rysheed Jordan is the top remaining point guard in the country.
A 6-foot-4 floor general at Philadelphia (Penn.) Vaux Roberts, the No. 28 player in the country had initially planned to sign early. Now, his coach and mentor Kamal Yard says that Jordan is a bit up in the air.

"He's kind of taking it day by day," Yard told Rivals.com. "We were initially thinking he would commit by Thanksgiving at the latest but that hasn't materialized like we thought it would.

"He could sign in the signing period or he might not sign until the spring. He's got to figure it out."

A big and athletic floor general, Jordan is amongst the most physical perimeter players in the country. He's a load to handle off the dribble and can make plays for others. During the summer family obligations kept him away from some big events and because of that he and those close to him feel that people haven't gotten to see what he's really capable of.

"We firmly believe that he got a bit of a raw deal because of some of the events he missed," said Yard. "He missed those events because of some family issues. He's got a big family and had some stuff going on.

"That's why he missed some of those events. If he goes to NBA Camp or LeBron I don't think people would have jumped off his bandwagon. Next to the Harrison twins, he's maybe the best point guard out there."

The fire to prove that he's better than some think he is burns strong in Jordan. He's been in the gym non-stop and has really been working on his shooting.

"He's really been working hard in the gym and he's gotten better with his shooting in the last three months," said Yard. "I think he's ready to go out and show what he can do."

On the school front, nothing has changed. In October Jordan released a final seven of Alabama, Rutgers, St. John's, Syracuse, Temple,Xavier and UCLA and despite some schools taking perimeter commitments, they are all under consideration as Jordan ponders his next step and when he'll sign.

"He hasn't chopped anything down on the list," said Yard. "But proximity is probably going to be pretty important to him when he does make a decision."

I'm just wondering who or what he is waiting for?  He's already pared down his list.  Proximity is a big factor.  There aren't really any schools in that vicinity that are going to pop into the picture that fit the description.  Maybe just too many people in his ear, butk find it perplexing.  If proximity is important there are only a small handful of options.  I have no problem with kids taking their time, just perplexed at whom he wants to impress.

It seems that's somebody is telling him that he deserves more offers, or better offers but he had a bunch from top  notch programs.  The only offer with that sort of gravitas is UK, buti don't think that one is coming simply because they can chose all theirs from the top 10.  Unless he's upset that Maryland backed off?  Regardless, looks like people around him trying to convince him to not commit yet to impress some program.

Really hope STJ is able to land Rysheed.  Can't imagine who they'd turn to if they weren't able to get him.
