From the man himself;

“@DaveKrupinski: Multiple sources from Philly area have said all signs point to #stjbb for Rysheed Jordan. Huge coup for Steve Lavin and co.”
UCLA board in a tizzy about Alford possibly losing Rysheed to Lavin & St. J's.

All i did was state that Lavin should never be underestimated, and it was enough for that little prick Nestor to delete it.  That dude has skin thinner than Joan Rivers.......

That being said, Rysheed knows where the lights shine brightest - in MSG!

Look at this website analysis.

I mean come one. I am not an Alford apologist but cut the guy some slack.

As I stated earlier he accepted the job Easter weekend.  He was was not formally introduced until Tuesday 4/2.  Meanwhile the recruiting calendar simply allowed him almost no time to recruit or perhaps visit with Jordan in addition to meeting with his current players and recruits and assembling a staff.

Exactly how in the hell was he going to develop a relationship with a kid with just 11 days and 8 of them Dead Period and the other 3 Quiet Period?

Yep, they simply ignored these facts even though someone brought this up.   You are dead on.

Great news that it seems like we are getting RJ but it is a little like finding out what your Christmas present is before actually unrapping it on Christmas eve or morning when you are a kid. But the main thing is just getting him. A welcome addition and even though we have a deep team coming back it is always nice to bring in new blood and somewhat level out the classes. Also helps us claim to be a young team again next year.  :)

Rysheed is a good shooter that will only get better.  Harrison can be a very good shooter.  We need him back.  Having a penetrator/passer can only help to create better shots for Harrison and others.  Harrison's dip in percentage was due to him taking bad shots and later in the season getting distracted.  First half of the season, he had lots of games where he caught fire.

They criticized Howland for not recruiting LA and now are critical of Alford for not getting Sheed from Philly....crazy !

And some here say our fans are critical? Nothing compared to ucla fans but guess when you have 11 NCs standards are unrealistic high, especially for today's landscape of tremendous competition from other schools.

Yes.

All of us know the brutal reality:
Ohio State hasn't won a title in 53 years;
Georgetown hasn't won a title in 29 years;
Louisville hadn't won a title in 27 years;
Indiana hasn't won a title in 26 years;
Michigan hasn't won a title in 24 years;
UCLA hasn't won a title in 18 years....

It's not so easy.

I'll bet St. J's or UMD wins one before UCLA.  Love my teams in red.

We have never won a NC so that may be an unrealistic prediction.
Can you imagine how the city would rock if St Johns won a chip ?

Lol Lavin is a fraud, but the coach who they just hired, who covered up a rape, and is a conceited elitist, who really has accomplished nothing in his coaching career is fine though. That's funny.

Good to see 10 years has softened their tone.

Back to Rysheed, there are some signs he might choose temple. Go to his twitter feed and look at his latest pictures about his commitment party.

Recruitment isn't stranger than Obekpa's...or Jakarr's...or Gathers for that matter.  As long as we're in the positive end of things, I'm okay with it.  We've had plenty of strange recruitments before.  This one is run-of-the-mill in comparison methinks.

The only way this moves into "strange" is if the final decision ISN'T one of SJU, UCLA or Temple.   The kid cut his list to 3 what, 4 months ago, and has kept the same three the whole time.   Actually , guess that IS strange - a normal recruitment  would have had that list  grow and shrink multiple times given that much time.  :)

That's a little concerning, but I seriously doubt with all the word and recruiting experts chiming in that he goes elsewhere.

can anyone remember a botched commitment where basically all the experts had someone pegged going somewhere, and they went elsewhere.

Jordan has had his list pared down to Temple, St. John's and UCLA for at least the last two months, but Internet rumors and multiple sources have Jordan leaning toward St. John's as his decision approaches tomorrow. SNY.tv's Adam Zagoria reported Wednesday that Jordan is expected to commit to the Red Storm.

Jordan and his AAU coach, Kamal Yard, could not be reached for comment Wednesday. Two sources OwlScoop.com spoke with Wednesday said Jordan and Temple coach Fran Dunphy have continued to talk throughout the week and indicated that Jordan had not informed the Owls' staff of any decision either way.

St. John's, which is coached by Steve Lavin, finished with a 17-16 record and saw its season end in the NIT with a loss to Virginia. Temple advanced to its sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament, where it lost to No. 1 seed Indiana, 58-52, in the third round.

Jordan lives close to Temple's North Philadelphia campus and attended several games at the Liacouras Center this past season. If he does elect to stay home and commit to Temple, Jordan will have an immediate opportunity to make a big impact with a program that saying goodbye to five players in seniors Khalif Wyatt and Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson and graduate students Jake O'Brien, Scootie Randall and TJ DiLeo.

Temple's 2014 recruiting class currently includes two players in guards Josh Brown and Kyle Green. Brown, a 6-2, 180-pound point guard from New Jersey's St. Anthony High School, is rated by Rivals No. 130 overall in the 2014 class, while the 6-4 Green averaged 20.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game for nearby Camden Catholic High School. Both Brown and Green inked national letters of intent with Temple back in November during the NCAA's early signing period.

Temple has four more available scholarships to offer, and the Owls are said by several sources to be involved with 6-7, 225-pound forward Jaylen Bond, a former star at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School who is transferring from Texas, and Mark Williams, a 6-8, 230-pound forward from Montrose Christian Academy who could be coming in for an official visit to Temple this weekend.

“@OwlScoop_com: @sheedjordan Guard Rysheed Jordan will choose between Temple and St. John's tomorrow. http://temple.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1494025
