Per Alex Kline....

Vanderbilt, Nebraska, St. John's & Syracuse watched Chris McCullough, a 2014 forward from Team Scan (NY), play today.

Interesting to see all the Big12 schools on him. Surprised that more ACC schools haven't been on him.

Maybe they feel it is futile with Lavin in the lead already and McCollough wearing St. John's T-shirts to his AAU games... ;) ;D

Shaking my head that Nebraska is a Big 12 school now.  Gross.

I'm assuming you meant Big 10, Marillac.

Still Big12 to me.  It's going to take a long time to change that.

Jesus, yeah.  I meant to write Big 10, but I can't brig myself to it.  Is anything safe in college sports anymore?  Does tradition mean anything?

Well, it's cute that Nebraska offered, but they'll never have a shot against us head to head.  I'm about as worried about that offer as I would be if Stony Brook offered him.

Well the Big 10 is reallly now the Big 12 and the Big 12 is really now the Big 10.  So in essense Nebraska was and still is a Big 12 school.  Suggest both conference try and find new and relevant names.

Iowa St has a good relationship with Team Scan AAU program. McCullough is going to visit there along with 2 other players from the team. Being a player with McCullough just increases Iowa State's credibility and connections to NY area.

I'd sweat Kansas somewhat though.

If ST J is your dream school why visit Rutgers? ( a local rival).

Why not?

Kid is looking into the best possible destination for his future. He should look into every opportunity presented to him.

So the kid is 3 years away from graduating and he should just commit to SJU without looking at other schools?

Relax.

McCullough calls SJ's "my dream school."  Coach K, Roy: Quivering in their shoes.  Coach K thinks: "Can't drink lemonade over Chris' house at dinner cuz he's already drinkin' the Johnnies Kool Aid!" (for those that don't know story, I love being sarcastic at K visiting the Rivers home for dinner and K "loving Mrs. Rivers' lemonade - had 7 glasses of it - lol)  Everyone is scared of Lavs and staff.  I cannot wait for Turgeon to get half of what Lavs is getting and watch SJ and Terps wax Duke!

Eamonn Brennan even tweeted that Lavs is batting .750 finishing with his top recruits after Ricardo committed.  Nationwide, coaches are in awe - I have no doubt about it.

Didn't go after those guys. Only other guy was Naadir Tharpe but they chose Nurideen Lindsey over him.

Was discussing this a few weeks back, Nash was the only one I really count as a loss.

Doron Lamb- Committed to Kentucky a couple weeks after Lavin got the job
Remi Barry- Didn't qualify
Quinn Cook & Naadir Tharpe- Stopped recruiting after the summer
Nick Johnson- Dont recall us going hard after him but I may be wrong

Anyone else??

Lavin batting a better percentage than just about anybody aside from UK and maybe Roy at UNC.  Sometimes Lavin has put feelers on guys but backed off a few weeks later.  Not many guys we went hard after that we didn't land.  Lavin landed a 9 guy class that is absolutely phenomenal considering the circumstances.  Lots of top programs have trouble hitting a high percentage with a 3 or 4 guy class.  Landing 9 top quality players is remarkable, considering that our lowest ranked guy Phil Greene is a borderline top 100 and our next lowest guys are who?  Our two JC All Americans??  Its ridiculous...
