Jesus who would have thought depth would be our strength. It seems as if him and nolan are close as well. They had some back and forth going on twitter about visiting.
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

It's really gonna be interesting to see who, in the end, takes the court for us next year.  Too many players, so few scholarships.  What a wonderful dilemma.

My assumption is Wood will come in 2013 and do the math from there. Moose's earlier puzzlement re two guards is worth contemplating. Hopefully Wood qualifies, we'll see.

Or a problem. Were running out of scholis. Cant take both Nolan and Chandler, unless a scholi opens up. What if Lavin takes Nolan and Chandler and Turner become available?  Like Moose said w DLO ,Greene Balamou and Woods + Marco + Hooper, we may have a bit of a log jam, which sometimes backfires. I believe it was the logjam of SFs last year that motivated Polee to transfer.

I trust Lavin but this is getting confusing.  Why so many guards? Are we becoming Shooting Guard U?  I will just have to wait and see how this pans out I guess...

I still think it will be a Wood for Balamou swap.  Gut tells me so.  Same position on the court, Obekpa leaning elsewhere, no LOI from Balamou etc..  We need Nolan now.  Wood is pretty much top 100 player ranked at #103.  He is a real offensive talent and nice shooter.  Welcome back Darrick.  It has been stated that Wood will be a 2012 recruit.  Bridgton gets kids qualified ago I'd venture to guess he'll be ok.

I also think this mean Felix is out.  Doesn't hurt Lavin hedging his bet that Harrison leaves early.

Someone has to be out in terms of Guards. It just doesn't make sense we have Wood recommitting and Lavin still recruiting others. Balamou seems to be the odd man out. Reminds me of Dwight Meikle(sp?) last year. Although I do think Balamou is more talented than Meikle.

Something tells me this talk about losing Felix may not be a hunch.

Either that, or this talk of Max being a 2013 enrollee, or an academic walk-on/transfer (which I highly doubt) has legs. That will give the staff time to get rid of him to make room for Lawrence, my two cents.

I don't see the staff getting rid of Marco.

If we lose someone, my money is on Hooper and then Felix, but I am just guessing here.

I think Felix is out and Hooper is an academic scholi.

Bigger question is, Are we about to get some big, or better stated "tall" news?

Hmm

I think there's a very good chance D'Lo leaves after this year and tries to get drafted.  He's a talented and Brash young'n.  It wouldn't surprise me at all to see that.   I think Wood can be a very good replacement.  Balamou a bit more of a defensive specialist at this point.  Wood has the scoring ability to go off.

The way I understand it...if you are a recruited athlete you can not receive another form of aid.

You are considered a Recruited athlete if one of the following occurred:

1. If they provide the prospect with an official visit.
2. If they have an off-campus contact with the prospect or the prospect’s parents or legal guardians.
3. If they offer the prospect a National Letter of Intent or an athletic scholarship agreement.
4. If they initiate a telephone conversation with the prospect or his parents or legal guardians more than one time.

Otherwise they could offer a scholarship for their video games skills

I can see this. I think we all see Harrison as a top 20 player next year and if he is he will probably test the waters. Also, Pointer and Garrett both have the athleticism to play in the NBA right now any combination of improvement /impatience and they can go too. And, there's always the fact that Sampson came back to the fold after seeing Moe's success and wants to duplicate his run and leap to the league.

I don't think Hooper's scholie is an athletic scholarship. Maybe he should not be counted toward the number of sholies we have to give.
