I wonder if Steve would be better off going back to broadcasting.

  troll much?

Boo this isn't really directed right at you but more to everyone.

It's comments like this that spur negative reactions from posters. It's a downward spiral.

This whole "troll" "baiter" "flamer" nonsense never existed here till recently. It's his opinion he stated. He's allowed to have it as much as you are to disagree with it.

Please refrain from calling posters names. It's not something I want here.

If you disagree either:

A: Don't respond

B: Counter with your opinion supported by facts/theory

The only problem with that is people get tired of typing out B to refute asinine statements like the one that was made.  So much easier and just as powerful to type troll or flamer.

Found this interesting...

Alex Kline @TheRecruitScoop
"Texas, Maryland, UConn & Memphis, among others, have reached out to former St. John's commit Darrick Wood of Bridgton Academy (ME)."

Two observations ..

1) For a guy some said was a borderline Big East player he's drawing a lot of high major attention now.

2) Not sure what to believe about his academics anymore.  If he decommited because he needed to look for a conference that allows partial-qualifiers, this list doesn't make much sense.

St. John's can't recruit him as a 2013 recruit. It wouldn't fit into the plans. Other schools can and stock always rises when you prep another year.

Prior to responding to this ridiculousness of bobre myself, i am curious, why can posters make inflammatory blanket statements withh no facts, reasoning, or explanation, but we are being discouraged from responding to said posters in the same fashion?  Im totally in support of your assertion that posts shd be fwct/reason based, but shoudnt it apply to all (including bobre)?

Mostly im wondering whether i can ask whether that was bobres first thought of the day that didnt involve a dream about him, sean evans, and a hot tub?  Or should i keep to myself?  ;-)

I don't think Bobre is a troll -- he is a longtime fan.

The problem is that he is pissy because Mark Jackson isn't the coach. He's stubborn and irrational beyond belief, but not a troll.

He made a statement. He's allowed to do that. I don't agree with it but I don't think it was "inflammatory"

Responding back calling him a name is.

Bobre has been a long time poster that I have read for nearly 15 years. He gets in a bad mood but I have never seen him start trouble with another poster except RJRJR LOL

I dont think losing Wood is as bad as it seems. Hes not a PG anyway. Harrison is the starting SG for the next 4 years and if we land Branch, Greene will get mins at the 2

I think in 2 years, he's Marcus Hatten.

In 2 years we're Final 4 and Hatten would be a bench player

We need more of an Omar Cook than a Marcus Hatten.

Wood is a very good player with a lot of upside.  Unfortunately he's behind the 8-ball with his grades and test scores.  No doubt the staff wanted him here.   It's up to him to get it done.

The staff still wants him, it is probably a situation where he reclassifies or goes to a school that allows partial qualifiers

Do you really think in 2 years time we're a Final 4 caliber team?

Yes, if Harkless stays and Lavin gets a few other pieces

Hope you're right Baldi.  Either way, I agree, I don't see us missing Wood too much.  Lavin will always be able to find shooting guards/wings.  And the fact that he doesn't fit into our plans for 2013 and beyond says a lot about the kids the staff is involved with in future classes.
