I dont think losing Wood is as bad as it seems. Hes not a PG anyway. Harrison is the starting SG for the next 4 years and if we land Branch, Greene will get mins at the 2

I think in 2 years, he's Marcus Hatten.

In 2 years we're Final 4 and Hatten would be a bench player

Do you really think in 2 years time we're a Final 4 caliber team?

If we get the right pieces, we could be knocking at that door next year.

Yeah, not fond of him espousing one of our biggest rivals a day or two after decommitting.

Not sure what a "retweet" means but if Wood is pulling for UCONN the dye has been cast ... not a SJU guy.

Should I remind you and others that at one point Moe Harkless was a UCONN verbal?
Its much ado about nothing.
Gathers has retweeted for other schools.  Should we disregard him as well?

If I have 17 followers on twitter and my friend has 1,000, hemight retweet me and get my tweet out to a wider audience.  It doesn't mean that he has adopted my thought as his own.

Okay, understand the "retweet" thing.  Retract comment about Wood not being a SJU guy.  I do appreciate that these days recruits are saavy at keeping potential suitors interested.

I'm guessing we are out with this guy. Looking at his twitter its all Maryland, Memphis and Connecticut. I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up at one of these schools in 2013. Of course Connecticut will find a way to get him as a walk on in 2012.

Their fans are a lot more aggressive in terms of tweeting him.

I also think sometimes fans go way overboard.  Who knows what these kids think?  Put yourself in their shoes, some might relish it, some might know that ppl hang on their every word and screw with them purposely.

He was so gung-ho (do people still say that?) about us during the Summer.  Any idea why he changed his mind suddenly?  I wasn't as excited about Wood as some other posters were, but I trusted that the staff saw something in him.  I am confident that Lavin can bring in even better talent.

My guess in a case like this to go from so hot on us to kind of dropping off the radar is that it was mutual

Ratings can be misleading, I think Darrick is a top 100 player and if not he's close
