So we're out of the running for this kid? I know rivals and ESPN recruiting isn't the most up to date, but they had us in the running. He seems like exactly the kind of player we could use.

Haven't been around him in ages

A while back friends of his parents told me that while they all love Lavin, he's not going STJ.  Of course at the time, which was over a year ago now, they were thinking (hoping) that he'd recruit him to play for him at USC.  Kind of timely that I post this today.  My friend said that they felt the parents didn't want him traveling that far east unless, like his brother, he went to a very highly rated academic institution (his brother is at Penn).

His sister lives or lived in NY. At one point we were at the top of his list. 

SJU is listed and UConn a late player. Arizona working the hardest;
