How about getting in the lockerroom and coaching this dead team

I'd prefer that but I'm not going to put a timeline on how he should feel physically. BUT at least him on the recruiting trail shows kids he's ok and sick.

He cant coach a game, but he could go to Colorado?

Ridiculous. Lav needs to get his priorities in order. While hitting the recruiting trail is nice, coaching up our players CURRENTLY ON THE ROSTER is nicer.

I'm not even sure why anyone is surprised. He SAID he was going to be doing this in interviews. He said specifically that while he wasn't on the sidelines he was going to be doing other things like recruiting and fundraising.

This season is a throw away. I've thought that since before the season started.

We NEED players for next year and after that. That's priority number 1 to me right now.

Haven't you guys been paying attention to what Lavin has been saying? He stated that his energy level is still to low to coach games and when he tried it took too much out of him and set back his recovery. Hope this clears up your consternation  over why he is out recruiting and not coaching games (he also stated he attends practice)..

I'm sure the team feels exactly the same way. ::)

They don't need to but be honest. What was your win/loss prediction before the season started ? I was thinking 13-14 wins

We'll be lucky to get ten, but that doesn't mean the season's a throw away.

And that's what we'll win next year too if we don't get some players in here. We are way behind in recruiting because of defections and missing out on Kyle. We need players.

So somone who does not like it when posters tell him what to do now feels it important to tell someone who he does not know and who is recovering from cancer what he should and should not be doing with his time.  Makes perfect sense.

Parker Jackson-Cartwright, PG, Loyola: Jackson-Cartwright helped lead his squad to its second straight tournament championship, winning last week's Santa Monica event. Late in games, Jackson-Cartwright makes Loyola very difficult to beat, as he has a terrific command of the position and has handles and passing that don't lead to many turnovers. While Jackson-Cartwright is a very good shooter, his knack for getting to the basket and finishing with both hands has also been impressive.

* St. John's head coach Steve Lavin, Colorado, UCLA and USC have watched Parker Jackson-Cartwright.

If you were expecting 10 it's a throw away.

If we don't get recruits maybe we win 4 more next year.

Making sure we get players to surround our core guys is the most important thing right now. I'll stick to what Lavin thinks is best

Jackson Parker-Cartwright (Los Angeles, Calif./Loyola), the 5-foot-7 point guard who comes in at No. 20 on ESPN's 2014 rankings, tells SurfTheSpear.com that his top five schools (in no order) are UCLA, Arizona, UConn, Georgetown and Pennsylvania.

So we're out of the running for this kid? I know rivals and ESPN recruiting isn't the most up to date, but they had us in the running. He seems like exactly the kind of player we could use.
