Where's Baldi?  Nothing since 10AM.

Enjoyed reading this as I am also in the Rockaways at the Point.  However unlike the brave one, we left.  Heard from someone in Belle Harbor that the Bay met the Ocean down there--need a confirm from Baldi.

Basements all over are flooded but as Kob said the rain was not as bad as 2 weeks ago when we got nearly a foot.  This time it was the tidal surge.  gotta get the pumps working in the basement but no where for the water to go as water table is Very High.

Good night and good pumping Baldi!!

Im still here, got some great pics and video. Waves were breaking right at the end of my block. I was outside every half hour removing debris from on top of the sewers so the water would go down.

Whats funny is, my sister evacuated to my cousin's house with my nephew and my parents went up to my Aunts house, both about an hour and a half upstate. They either have no electric or cable and cant leave because the roads are flooded.

You guys in NY get to see what us guys in S.Fla live through every year.

I've been in Miami for three years and haven't experienced anything bad.  And I live right on the water.

A week ago around this time it looked like Irene was about to hit Charleston, SC.  I remember the days leading up to and after Hugo.  We had a football game (I was in the 11th grade at that time) that evening.  It was a steady, light rain with wind throughout the entire game.  On the way home from the game, you could sense something was brewing and it wasn't gonna be pretty.  That sucker weakened and then re-strengthened before making landfall.  Man!  Hugo did a number on most of South Carolina.

The wind and rain was whipping so badly that I thought our roof was gonna come off (as, I feared a tornado was gonna spawn) or a tree was gonna hit our home.  It was, at that particular time, the costliest hurricane to hit the US.  Wicked!

Hope y'all in the path are doing alright, and wish the best for the New England states.  Keep the faith!

ughh. I haven't seen what happened there.  I feel for the 21 victims of the storm.  I'm glad it wasn't as bad as they thought or else it could have been much worse.  Nonetheless, I hope you get pwr back soon Moose.
