POINT GUARD

WE are in dire need of a point guard. Not 1 player on this roster resembles a PG. THis need to be addressed even before a big man

I said something similar when I saw this recruiting  class , it doesn't have to be a 5 star just a pass first guard that has a high b-ball iq. I would take a 6-10 -7-& player with post moves , shot blocking ability
Attack basketball, pressure defense, 40 minutes of hell ... Early on it might be 30 minutes of hell, then 10 minutes of what the hell are you doing?"

More than a big man?  I think not.  You guys have to give these guys time to adjust to this level.  But we desperately need some size.

Nuri plays too high and is too sloppy with the ball.  He was grossly overmatched tonight.  1 point, 1 assist, 5 turnovers, horrible defense.

Lindsay has a lot to learn. Hopefully, now that there has been a large enough sample of his game, the staff can go to work on correcting it. In fairness, it's not like any of our guys played well outside of Gift. That was basically the only bright spot.

The match up zone wasn't terrible, but so often it left a Kentucky player wide open with the ball under the basket. It's sad that we have to spend the next two worrying about Detroit and Fordham, but we clearly do.

What good is a big man if we cant get the ball up the court or run a play to get a shot off?

We need a point guard and a big man....how's that?

I think GG and Harkless is a good front court, but we need depth.  That is the real issue.  We have to wait till next season for reinforcements.

Just read this on Zags...don't know much about him except what's in the article...

It's not going to help the problems at PG this year but could this be a possibility for next year?  Anyone know much about him...he's an east coast kid...

I would guess if he wanted to start in the Spring somewhere it would need to be in a Philly school in order to get an exemption. otherwise he cant start anywhere till next fall I think.

Machado transfer?

Machado transfer?

Hes a senior. He's better than anyone on St Johns at the moment. Harkless and Gift would be averaging 18 apiece

Can he transfer before the second semester and be eligible to play a semester at STJ next year?  Might make sense.

STJ will likely be one next year.  Not sure Iona will even make the tournament this year, as they'll probably have to win their conference tournament, which isn't a gimme.  Just something he should consider is all.

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do this season.  It's going to have to be Greene, Nuri and Stith.   I agree that through 8 games none look like great options.

Greene can handle pressure, is good at not turning it over but he isnt really a good distributer.  He has 12 assists in 200 mins of play.

Nuri turns it over too much and isnt a great decision maker at this point and Stith is Stith.

I'd like to see Greene as the full time guy and hope he can improve as the season goes on and help for next year b/c I wouldnt count on a better option being here.

Unfortunately I think your right. Looking at rivals, most of the 2012 PG's already signed. Greene it is
