WE are in dire need of a point guard. Not 1 player on this roster CURRENTLY resembles a PG.
Fixed that for ya.
I think Greene definitely has the makings of a classic point guard. Average to above average handle and physical ability, tough, can shoot it well enough, good decision making for a frosh. He was the most unheralded of the group and has been the most pleasant surprise, IMHO. Probably not a future pro, but could definitely see him as a PG on a team that goes deep in the tournament as an upperclassman.
To me, Nuri is just the opposite- a victim of expectations, specifically the talk about the NBA which is clearly nonsense. We all know what he doesnt do well right now. But what he doesnt do well can be taught, especially if the kid is bright and is a willing student, which by all accounts he is.
His quickness, without and especially with the ball, his ability to get to the rim...you cant teach that. He took two years off from organized ball, then played JC last year where I'm sure the coach wasnt encouraging him to drive and dish, or pull up in the lane, or stay after practice and shoot 200 free throws. He has to learn how to do that, and watching it will be painful at times. But it can be learned. Whether it will be or not, time will tell.
