Nuri has people telling him he's better than he is.  He figured he step in here with a sick class of freshman, be the main man, Average about 20 ppg and then be a lottery pick.  It became obvious that his path was going to have a few more bumps than he or TeamLeem imagined, so they took the easy path, and quit.   End of Story.  IMO, Never to be heard from again....

This is 1000% the case. Chad Ford did us no favor thinking this kid was good enough to jump from JUCO to the NBA.
and there were many here that believed it

Any one who saw the kid play and had a clue knew he was nothing more that a schoolyard player.  Mr. Ford certainly looses some credibility here.  The kid was just not as good as touted..... plain and simple.

There are 1000 players on the NBA radar, and maybe 30-40 who make it there each year. What Chad Ford does is pointless, because for 2 dozen conference POY guys, there's a 7 footer from Brazil who actually gets drafted.

That said, I had hoped that Lindsey would have been a smarter, more well rounded player. And even worse, he just turned out to be a child and a coward. So F him. He had his chance at a better life. One that thousands of people with the same hardships had no chance at.

Everyone makes mistakes and Chad Ford was WAY OFF on his assessment of Nuri.

BOTTOM LINE: Lavin has put our program is a very bad position right now.  There is no debating this.  If you are happy that we are going to be throwing out 6 (maybe 7) scholarship players the rest of the season and get blown out in more than 50% of big east games, then more power to you.

Yeah....  We're all elated as the dork who somehow bagged the prom queen because we have 6 or 7 scholarship players suiting up the reminder of the season.  Keep posting gems.

Look, I have been know to be as negative as they come, but in this case, I have to disagree with Mr. IllWill on this one.  Lavin came in last year and took a losing mentality and turned it into a winner overnight. Does he not deserve some slack for that alone? In terms of Lavin putting us in a bad situation, that one is on Norm Roberts.  Lavin had to bring in an entire team from what that non coach left us.  Maybe he did take a chance on a few kids but he had to.  He was trying to bring in the best talent available and worked his butt off doing it. If he was bringing in Norm level talent, we would all be bitching about that. The poor guy was in a no win situation.  We are not in a position yet to bring in Duke type players at t his point.

If there is one area that I can't condem Lavin it is in his creating effort.  He'll, the guy was sick, he needs some slack here.

Hey mjm, we only disagreed allot cause I recognized that Mr. Roberts was a dud from the getgo and many did not.  Lol

You make some fair points, and I do realize it was not an easy task for lavin, but it wasn't impossible.  When you have 3 guys ineligble, and 2 others transfer, you deserve some heat.  Lavin did a great job last season...FANTASTIC job.  But this year the coaching staff as a whole has been a dissapointment.

The season ain't over.  Maybe the staff ends the season being slightly less of a disappointment to you Will.   Seriously, it's not out of the question.  Let's see how the staff works with these freshmen the second half of the season, and the class Lavin ends up bringing in.
The first half of the season obviously had it's negatives.  I won't blame them  all on Lavin, but you've been consistently right that he deserves some heat for the bruises we've taken.

I think the problem has always been it's hard to pinpoint exactly which instances are something you can definitively point to as being the staff's fault.  Lindsey leaving sucks; but first, I think it may be for the best, but regardless, could Lav really have done anything about it?  Should Dunlap have kissed his ass?  Probably not.

And the same is true with the Rise situation, and Gathers, etc etc.   Overall, Lav runs the show so he needs to take the blame when things go incredibly wrong, I just have a problem pointing to anything specific he could have done differently.

From ESPN Insider-

It's a slightly old update, but when Nurideen Lindsey announced he would transfer from St. John's, the most popular potential destination was La Salle, a school the guard had originally committed to back in the aughts. However, according to Matt Breen of Philly.com, Lindsey will probably not transfer to the Atlantic 10 program.

Another possible destination? Drexel. The assistant who recruited Lindsey to La Salle -- Ashley Howard -- is now an assistant for the CAA program and it would not surprising if the Dragons start to pop up in the where-will-Nurideen-transfer-to discussion.

I doubt he would go to La Salle because the Pg Garland transferred there. from Va Tech.

Ashley and Tony are very close. I know that Nuri was at Drexel the other day too. They might be a landing spot.

Really?   surprised these programs are showing interest in Nuri.   thought it would be a mid major ala Iona or Drexel which posters had both heard rumors about

Iona? God I hope not.  Im being serious in saying he would be hard pressed to get time off the bench. Drexel has Chris Fouch also, that kid can ball

He should go to Memphis since he seems to want carte blanche on the court.  Pastner rolls out the balls and let 'em play!

That was the rumor.  Plus, won't he be like 23 by the time he's eligible next spring?   Combine his age with all the time off from organized ball that Nuri's had, with another year coming up....that can't be too inticing to coaches or scouts.

Memphis is out of his league.

Ha!  Get real!  He just needs someone to harness his game.  Quite frankly, I think Memphis would fit him at this moment.  Did you forget Josh Pastner is their coach?  I'm also guesing you haven't seen Memphis play or the conference they play in.
