Lay off the kid, it didn't work out for him at St Johns. Who knows, it may not have worked out for us either going forward. Things are tough right now, not ready to give up on the program or staff or get hateful on kids.

I hear you Choz, kids make mistakes (as do adults), I can't bash him on these forums.

We lost to Northeastern and Detroit mainly because Lindsey is selfish, careless and all around clueless on the court. Well, now we can see that he's clueless off the court too.

Once I heard him complain about Lavin not being there, he became dead to me. I can't believe I felt bad for this POS.

I told u guys that this would happen....but yeah, lavin and company can do no wrong  :2funny:

we are a mess!!!

Obviously you don't like Lavin and co.  May i ask who you were hoping they bring in after Norm was fired?   Did you hate this staff last year also?

This particular event says more about Nuri than it does about the staff IMO.  I'll wait till the details are out before I start killing anyone though.

who said i didnt like the lavin hire?  I thought it was a good hire....but it's hilarious how everyone continues to throw kudos at the guy/staff and can never admit that they have done a bad job so far this season.

Our program is an embarassment right now...and id bet nuri isn't the last guy to transfer.  And ill ask again, who do we have for next season coming in?
It is your opinion they've done a "bad job" so far this season.  "Bad job" and having growing pains with a young team are two entirely different opinions.  If you feel they've done a bad job, you should at least support it with some compelling reasons for your opinion.

same page Choz.  So if it was at the end of the season where it was most likely better thought out, you'd have less of a problem with it, right?  I hope to heck he discussed this with some of his teammates before making such a big decision.

Poison let's tone it down a little.
When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

not having Lavin i think is the problem of all our current troubles.  with all due respect to coach dunlap, as smart and gifted as he is, he doesn't appear to be a player's coach.   player's came because of lavin.  lav's not here so i can see why guys like nuri and recruits would falter with commitment.

nonetheless, pretty f'uked up move by nuri.
Coach dunlap is a player's coach.  He wants nothing more for each and every player to improve their game to help the team and themselves.  But one has to be willing to listen to both the good and the bad. That will not change no matter where Nuri goes.

Exactly Moose.  He would have received the same earful like he was getting from the coaches.  They would have definitely told him to stay for the year and not abandon them.

Seems he struggled with Coach Dunlap's structured, disciplined approach to the game. Hmm, one has to wonder how he is doing academically, where those characteristics count as well. What a shame, seems like Nuri makes some bad decisions that will really limit his futeure. Hope not!

Re: current regime, as much as I love Lavin, let's man up and face the fact that in a sincere effort to bring potentially big time players here, risks were taken and backfired. Live and learn I guess, but the Philly summer classes debacle and the Nuri saga leave a bad taste and must be looked at and learned from.

Clearly, Nuri is "doing what's good for Nuri".  He has looked awful on national television several times this year, and he apparently thought that things will only get worse for him and his reputation if he remained at St. John's.

Sounds like Moose is stating the team also felt Lindsey's decision was the best (decision) for everyone involved.

This is ridiculous.  Even if Nuri was butting heads with Dunlap, where's he going to get more playing time than here?

Sit out till next winter to transfer somewhere where you may not start?    This doesn't make any sense to me.

And re: the Urban Meyer rumors about Lavs, I don't want to hear that S*%t right now.    I'm not saying your wrong redmen4life.   I just don't want to think about that possibility.

Wow

I took it more like they helped him out the door as in, "good riddance"
