Troy Murphy previously held the record with 30 against Providence in 1999.

Congrats to Moe, who finished with 32 points...and 14 rebounds!!!

allen iverson also had 30 in his debut.  harkless is in great company!!

If he keeps playing like that there's no way he'll stay.

lets see if he's consistent. if he averages 25+ points this year and projected 1st round pick, i'm an advocate of him leaving for the draft. not sure of his family situation, but SJU will always be here for him.

my guess is he comes down to earth...especially if he's facing double teams.

he's crazy quick with an outstanding handle for someone who's probably 6'9" at this point.

another year and he's a certain lottery pick.

D'Angelo said it best in press conference. He can do everything I can do but he's 6'8

Crazy thing is that Mo might still might be growing.  He's jumped to 6'8 1/2 this past summer.  Not inconceivable he could hit 6'10".  Regardless he's a first rounder this year but I don't think he's close to as good as he'll be after another season..  One more year and he's a lottery pick with 20lbs of muscle on his frame and some more consistent shooting.  I don't think he will stay more than 2 years at this point an probably shouldnt.  gotta be proud and root for our guys to make it big in the nba.  As many said, SJU will always be here for him if he wants to earn a degree.  He needs one more year to be a lottery pick methinks, but he could possibly hit that level us season.   I hope we can bring in a guy like Jakarr, as he should be able to see that he'd not be behind Mo for too long here.

Harkless needs to refine his offensive game a bit. Needs to show he can shoot on the move and  overall jumper still needs a little work. Plus he can get stronger. With that being said he reminds me of Caron Butler and maybe a little Rudy Gay. Another year would help both him and the program but if he keeps playing close to this he will be gone. Really can't blame the kid although I am sure some here will.

The NBA will match up Harkless with Melo, Durant, Lebron and many other players that have extensive experience that Mo doesn't have. It's just like a St.John's fan to start talking NBA after one breakout game. In the lottery, players are taken who drop 32 every 2 out of 3 games.

And if he's going to be a lottery pick, he should stay in school until he is.

I agree we not need to stop talking about the NBA for Moe. Let the kid play the season.
It was priceless to watch him and Harrison talking about the records. Really showed the kid in them.

All I can say is WOW! Durantt also came to mind wathcing him last night. This kids upside is unlimited. His nack for the ball with regards to rebound is good.

I think Harkless is a very good player and will be a 1st round draft pick. Kevin Durant might be the best shooter in the NBA. Harkless is not the best shooter on a bad shooting BE team. Only similarity is they are both lanky and even that is a stretch. Body wise Moe looks like Karl Malone compared to Durant as a frosh. To me I think Caron Butler is a better comparison.

Sorry, but pet peeve when a poste throws out an opinion with zero research to back it up.  Lotto players drop 32  two out ove every 3 games?   WTF?  That would mean even if the scored ZERO that 3rd game out of three, they'd be averaging over 21 pts per game for the year.   Only lotto picks #9 (Kemba Walker), 10 (Jimmer Fredette) and 12 (Klay Thompson) averaged 21 pts.

#1 Kyrie Irving averaged 17, #2 Derrick Williams aveaged 19.

The NBA drafts based on skill, talent and potential to translate that talent into NBA success.  If they see that Moe has the skill set, the numbers won't matter that much.  Kyrie barely played a game in college, yet he went #1 in the Draft.  If Moe grows another 2-3 inches, he will be another Dirk Nowitzki--- 7-footer with small foward skills.

Wow! Going right to the top of the food chain with these comparisons huh? Durant, Nowitzki. Who is next Carmelo, LeBron, Bird, Elgin Baylor?

FYI, #2 overall draft pick Derrick Williams averaged 19.1 pts for Arizona last year.

Before declaring Mo MVP of the NBA can we wait for Saturday's results. Now tear up Uconn and I'm a believer

Exactly, he had a fantastic game last night, but Providence had a small front line and played ole defense.  Moe's the goods, but we need to see him perform against some bigger more physical teams.

Pretty sure Prov had the best FG% defense in the BE going into the game.
