Dom played well today. He is really improving . I think Deangelo should be our PG. UConn is tough. They have such awesome size and can really hit the 3.

WE need Harrisons points, can he get shots at the PG position?

I don't mind all the 3's,we go 7-24,its a different game

It's really not St. John's game.

Harrison and Greene should average 4 attempts a game. Harkless 2. Pointer 1. Random 1.

That's 12 a game.

Harrison is 8th in the big east in 3pt% and 7th in threes make.  He has the green light to shoot because it IS his game.  Greene needs to drive and dish more, and shoot when wide open.  Gift should never, ever shoot a three and should run 30 wind sprints for every 3 he takes in a game.  We didn't make em today because they weren't taken in the flow of the offense, but rather as an afterthought just to chuck a shot up at times.  It will take time to work on getting better and more high percentage shots.

Could be wrong, but I think if we had Gathers or just another capable big body down low, maybe Obekpa or Pelle, this is a much more competitive game, and I think we would win it. Drummond dominated us inside, and we have trouble inside on offense. Our game against Uconn might not be so easy for them next year.

Drummond killed us inside. We just don't have any interior defense. Every BE team w size is going to have their way with us. The plus side is that Harrison and Pointer never stopped playing hard. Harkless was fine, but he's not mixing it up inside, and we really need him to.

0 points off the bench, actually nothing from Stith or Garrett except 1 steal and 4 fouls. More stats that stick out to me are UCOnns 7 blocked shots to our 1. They had 21 assists to our 7

Love the effort from our guys.  We're going to experience losing this year but our guys will be battle tested and improve with each game as confidence grows.  A more aggressive Harkless -- not just on the boards but looking to create for himself on offense -- will pay off hugely for us.  Each time he "goes for it" on offense we have a shot for something good to happen.

I do think this team is good enough to play with most BE teams. Not SU, Louisville or Uconn, but the others are not leagues better than us. I think we can hang with Cinci, Pitt, WV, Depaul, RU, USF, Seton Hall, Nova and ND.

While contributions are needed they didn't subtract by taking or forcing poor shots.

Didnt stop Hardy. Not to many good PGs available for next year. With Harrison at the 1 and Greene,Woods at the 2 ,that may work out well.

Stith could have penetrated and created opportunities for Sir/Garrett/Gift/Harkless.
He simply doesn't move fast enough. The defense collapses on him with ease.

Hate to say it, but Stith is stinks.  I hope for the kids sake he transfers out so he can get 1 year to play some big minutes.

He's just not a D1 talent IMO. I'm not sure how much better he is than any of the walk on's to be honest.

Hate to agree, but it's been long enough with the new staff. The only thing I've seen out of him that I like is that when he fouls a player, he fouls hard. The rest of our guys need to learn how to do that. Harkless and Harrison were tickling them.

I say make them earn it at the line.

Great effort by the lads--didn't quit when down 20.  Was most impressed with only 7 turnovers by the team.  they will be able to take some positives away as they continue to grow.

Finally, the coming out party for Sir Dom.  Drove hard to the hole and finished like a man's man in the second half.  High energy, emotion and Phi slamma jamma to boot against a huge front line.  All the good stuff that a CA favorite is made of.

Moe and D'angelo had their debutante ball against Providence.  And Double G had his early on in non-conference.  That's 4 of 6.  We just might have some talent here.  Let's hope Amir and Greene peace have theirs someday soon.

Amir took an uncontested three that, I'm not exaggerating, missed the rim by 5 feet?   :-\  Limped off late.  I hope he's not hurt.

Malik III never drew Boo Harvey comparisions but he has had some moments in the past, Alaska?, and generally played much better than he's showing now all last season.  We need him to forget the "Pops" and leadership crap and fall back into the solid complimentary role he's filled in the past.  Not exactly sure how that's going to happen but we do not have the option of abandoning him so let's support him.

Stith needs to facilitate the offense better when he's in. He's done it a few times and he's been aggressive attacking the basket. He can't be timid on the floor.

Offensively he hasn't been as bad as you might think. He's made 4-7 attempts from 3 and is shooting 45% from the floor.

Needs to be peskier on defense and get more steals. He was pesky last year but much more reserved this year. Not sure if by design?

How about with a year to go, he studies hard and graduates? If he stinks, whats the point of getting big minutes?

Agreed. I've never been a Stith hater like others. He has not looked good recently though.  He should focus on being more defensive, problem is , he just doesn't look quick enough out there to be that pesky defender that can disrupt opposing PG.

Transfer?  He's got one year left till he graduates.  He'll be a 4 year player at SJU and deserves support from all. Not everyone can be a superstar.  I still say he steps up at some point this year and helps us win a game we shouldn't.

He's turning the ball over too much lately.  Many of the To's have been of the super ugly varierty.

He's not leading them on the court, and as a pg that's his job. I'd love nothing more than to see him contribute, but Dave, I think you're inventing it. He's 4-7 from downtown. But he passes up shots that a guy like him needs to take and make.  Has he made a meaningful basket or pass once this entire season? I honestly don't think so. The staff needs to get more out of him.

If you look at the guards on Iona, Manhattan, Hofstra, Wagner, SBrook are all better than him.
