Staff seems to be hard on Sina for '13, I hope it's not because they feel like Rysheed Jordan is out of pocket.  I was under the impression we were still very much involved with Jordan.

Sina is no slouch.  He's good as a lead guard, but a killer shooter as well.

I was thinking the same thing. That would be a real disappointment having Sina for our PG LOL.

Slightly off topic... during the game against Louisville, one of the guys who was calling the game was talking about Garrett and mentioned that he is not taking up a scholarship because the Reds were picking up the tab. Is there anyone who can confirm or deny this?

Believe they are wrong because even if the Reds or Amir himself were paying his way being that he was a recruited athlete the NCAA would still count him as one of 13 scholarships for hoops. But these rules change so often and are so convoluted who knows for sure cause isn't Drummond of Uconn considered a walk on and not counted against the schoolie limit. Sorry for my non answer but I think I talked my way out of knowing what the heck I am talking about. Don't ask me again, got it! :)

I don't think we get both Sampson and Gathers

One is a small forward and one is a power forward. What's the problem?

I believe that the Reds are paying for him but he still counts towards the 13 scholarships.

I don't understand why Garrett would count towards the scholarship limit, strange NCAA rules

he doesn't mention us specifically in this article form a few days ago but he does say there are many other schools involved which we are probably one of.

Like I said, I heard we are still very much in the hunt for him, and that was just a couple weeks ago.   I wouldn't be disappointed in Sina obviously.
But we all have our favorites.

Well out of the guys we are after Wood, Gathers and Jakarr at Top 100's.  Wood is on the cusp but I'm giving him benefit of the doubt.  Obekpa isn't far behind.  Lastly there aren't many names uncommitted from 100-150.

This basketball program is OBVIOUSLY a MESS right now and heading completely south in a hurry.

6 players in 3 months time either de-committed, transferred or failed to qualify.  I have never seen anything like it in my lifetime.  THAT'S HALF THE ALLOTTED NUMBER OF PLAYERS ALLOWED BY THE NCAA.

What in the world is going on?

Every day I m on JJ I hope to read news of a recruit committing. We re going backwards. A lot of people forget about Jevon:a PG.Hopefully Lavin can turn things around but this is getting ugly. I knew their was a problem when Woods didnt sign his LOI during the early signing period. He sounded like Amir assuring everyone he will be a Johnny, strange.

Worse  case scenario is Lavin not returning and players transferring.

Jevon might never see 2012 either.  That is why him and Kareem Canty committed to A-10 schools as they accept partial qualifiers.  The BE doesnt.

Which I suspect Wood will do as well.
