Why does he deserve an apology, he said he was never coming back and moving back to West Coast

I thought he said he was the first person to say he had heard he wasn't coming back this season?

It was. Someone close to the team told me that. The other rumor with Lavin never coming back was from Dean Wormer

So you finally have some real news than ruin it by also posting a far fetched rumor simultaneously? Good job Bluto

I guess it was always a possibility he could miss the rest of the season, let's see how he feels after this recruiting trip if he speaks to the press again regarding a return. It is a common theme with recruits that they are concerned about his long term coaching capabilities, I am sure Lavin realizes this and needs to make sure he is cleared for coaching by his doctors later this season. 

As I posted last week and I am sure others have heard that Lavin is leaning towards missing the season, but that he is healthy. Phone calls and hedging on his return are becuase of the fallout recruiting wise. It is a shame it has to come to that. Again I feel the school should have just put out a release saying he is cancer free and will return when he is 100%. If kids don't want to come becuase of Lavin's situation screw em.

He also said he heard an alternative rumor that coach wouldn't be returning for the rest of this season.   That's a fact, I can go find the posts if you'd like.   And many posters here jumped on him like he was plotting to kill the president.   

And now you say "I guess it was always a possibility he could miss the rest of the season".   Talk about revisionist history.   

Most thought it was preposterous that coach could miss the rest of the season, Baldi heard otherwise and you criticized him relentlessly for it.

Funny we have "fans" who seem all excited about this news, have hardly heard "Get healthy Lav, we need you" Geez!

BTW, where in Rubin's or the LA Times article, does it say LAVIN OUT FOR SEASON, SEE YOU NEXT OCTOBER ?

Lavin knows that he needs to recruit.  This is a legit national championship core he has in place, but Lav knows he needs to get the final pieces of the puzzle in place.

Hate to spoil the doom and gloom party, but in two years this program will have a 6'8.5 forward going in the lottery and a shooting guard averaging 20 ppg in his second year as an All-Big East selection (not including the All-Rookie team freshman year).  There will also be three fantastic athletes and defenders in Greeene, Pointer, and Garrett--all of which averaged 20 mpg for three years. 

Lav knows he needs to get a point, a shooter, and a pair of bigs for that run. Coach Hines and Coach Dunlap are more than able getting this kids coached up in the interim.
