The recruits do read ESPN and these sites, but it doesnt take a genious to see the article is a one sided piece of s..t as you said.

Gee, I wonder where these "journalists" get their motivation?  All these idiots that call themselves fans of our program running around and posting like the sky is falling everytime something bad or odd happens.  We landed a top 50 PG LAST MONTH.  Who cares if our last scholarship player off the bench got scared off?

Half the nice persons that post this way then give praise to Ed Cooley.  Ed Cooley won't be working as a head coach when CBS is playing a montage of the struggles our freshman and their cancer-affected coach went through this season on their way to earning a spot in the 2015 Final Four.  Sampson is not going to Providence.  Cooley can't coach his way out of a paper bag...Providence is 2-10 in the league, lost to us by TWENTY-effing-FOUR, and their best player is a freshman that plays the same position as Sampson.

Was referring the point that fans of other BE programs are annoyed that he is recruiting while their coaches are coaching games.  The statement refers strictly to recruiting.

The coaching setback was several weeks ago.  I've traveled on the job and learned to hate it.  There's just noplace like home.  I don't know but I believe Steve's psyche is in very fragile shape after what he went through and that affects his thought patterns.  He's just uncomfortable being seen at less than 100% by thousands rather than a recruit and his parents.  I hope he's getting counseling for that because attitude is important during recovery.  There re two issues here - the health of the coach and that of the program.  Sorry but I have my doubts about both right now.....

Why put it out there on a public board what your guessing about Steve's psyche and your hopes that he is getting counseling? If your sorry about your doubts, why put them out there? Your talking about Steve is creepy, and if a family member of his reads that SJU fans are speculating about his psyche and hoping he's getting help, they might figure thats being to invasive.

WOW. There are a lot of posts from Bobre to choose from for the craziest I've ever seen ( and to be fair has been right once and awhile like after the St Francis/Norm debacle )

Wow.  Why are you creating a mystery where there is none?  There are two perfectly sound reasons coach isn't on the sideline.  Debate the second factor if you think it's a mistake, but there's really no question why coach isn't on the sidelines.  It's a combination of the following:

1)  He had surgery.  It has side-effects.  (see Choz and MCNPA's posts)
2) We have 6 players.  Six.   Basketball is played 5 on 5, think coach might be prioritizing a bit?   Just maybe?

But please, leave the psycho-analysis off the board.  Because there is simply no evidence of what you are theorizing.

2012 mount Vernon guard Isaiah Cousins recruiting is picking up big time, just was offered by Oklahoma, Xavier and south Carolina. If where offering guys like Thaddeus Hall who might not even qualify , where are we at for guys like this??

I def agree with the diamond in the ruff analogy, he has a great motor and a big heart. He reminds m of Ryan Pearson a senior at George mason right now. He budded into a terrific mid major player. But I'm really hoping the staff sticks there nose in the Isaiah cousins recruitment. Lavin offering a "decent" player in Thaddeus hall who might not even qualify scares me. The staff continues to talk a good one but no commits and offering Hall I don't understand. He is a bottom of the barrel big east talent IMO.

Especially after all we went thru during the summer with all the non-qualifiers, but let's talk basketball a bit. if Hall isn't a lower tier big east player then what is he? Is he a immediate impact player? What position would he even play? He certainly dosent fit the mold of wing forwards lavin has already assembled and thats what he plays now in highschool. Cousins is about the same size with better ball skills and off hand, and can defend both guard positions; thus I'm in favor.
