Lavin certainly communicating like crazy last few days. Relax Coach and enjoy selection Sunday.

“@STJCoachLavin: Restoring a winning program is a day by day process. From Day 1 on the job as HC of #STJbb a 3 year blueprint for success was implemented.”

Lav seems like the type who would go stir-crazy if he didn't always have someone to talk to.  Twitter must be a lifesaver for him.

I actually like how he's keeping fans in the loop.  Let him talk.  As long as he brings the kids in, he's fine.

Think he uses twitter to connect optimism to recruits, after all our setbacks?

Just a quick question. What are the rules (not ethics) regarding reaching out/speaking to a recruit who has only verballed but hasn't signed yet?

I meant that he's actually writing too fast.

There are no rules
When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

LOL. I should of remembered that one.

Here is the 2012 Rivals 150 list of guys unsigned (except Tobey). By all means, I am not saying we are in the hunt for all (or any) of them. However, it might give you something to work off of to think about guys that we maybe going after although some of us don't think we can land (or think the staff are actually pursuing).

I'd use ESPN & Scout before I use Rivals. Rivals has fallen off a lot.

You're right. However, I was using it just to pull up a list of recruits and not their rankings.

Tobey is from Monroe, NY and not Ramsey, NJ.  That was where his first of three high schools, Don Bosco, was located.  They raid all of our size in basketball and take a lot of our guys in football.

Closer to home, the Red Storm have their eyes on Thaddeus Hall (Quinn's evaluation of Hall at the PSAL semis), Florida guard Carlos Morris, and others. And don't discount St. John's as a player for a fifth-year senior who would be able to transfer to the program for a year while taking graduate classes.
