what 5th year Sr. are they talking about?!

It's written pretty cryptically. Can't tell if they mean Morris or Hall.
neither. Referring to someone already in college I believe

Correct.

if he's already in college, then he can't play this upcoming season...
If you graduate you can.

Jermaine Maybank did it and went to Kansas St I think

why not? If he graduates, he can immediately play at another school w/ a grad program that his current school doesn't currently offer.

Danny O'Brien - he's got some mad ups, and is an accurate passer.

Where does Danny O'Brien play now?

He's the QB for Maryland, no bball?

By the way they really hate Randy Edsall down in College Park, no?

There is a recruiting section on the site. Long thread about Felix there

One could argue that those appearances ARE still being "on the recruiting trail".    :)

You mean being on a show that every recruit in the country will likely be watching?

Only way to be in the living room of every recruit left on board at the same time :)

The mere fact that Lavin's commentary is solicited by CBS Sports for the first weekend of March Madness really makes you appreciate the value Coach Lavin brings to our program. As a personality, he arguably has better brand value than SJU!  (Waiting for Poison to chime in with the comment, it's not an agrument, it's a fact  ;)

i wouldn't put much weight into his selection.  as you may recall the great Norm Roberts was a fixture on CBS during the tourney.  I think it has more to do with being in NYC than anything else.  If i'm not mistaken CBS College Sports is broadcasted from Chelsea Piers.

Yeah, I was injecting s little humor since Danny's doing the move to a school w/ a grad program different from MD.  He's a redshirt junior, so he technically has two more years to play.

You've probably read about the controversy about him requesting the transfer release papers, and Edsall restricting him from Temple, WVU (on schedule next season), and Vandy because James Franklin currently is recruiting 9 players 2013 players that cross over w/ MD.  The nat'l press (unfairly imho) torched Edsall for blocking O'Brien at all.  Edsall withdrew the block (I wouldn't have, it happens all the time) partly due to the pressure.

Yes, Edsall was skewered down here, some justified (perception of being a hard ass just to be a hard ass, poor choices of OC/DC - Don Brown suddenly leaving didn't help) & some unjustified (he solely caused some highly regarded players to request transfers - it usually happens during coaching turnovers anyway).  I'm the guy who was saying at the end of the season he needed to give a mea culpa statement and rectify his OC/DC choices and ST coach (Lyndon Johnson, who followed him from UConn).  He got rid of Crowton and LB coach  converted to horrible DC Bradford, and moved Johnson to LB coach.  And he gave interviews admitting he didn't do everything he could have to embrace the media (no asst coach or player interviews with media - disaster).  since he was G-ed up 10 MIL more for the next 5 years, I got what I wanted since the AD couldn't make a change (which would have been lunacy on all fronts).

That being said, after last season, be glad SJ's doesn't have a football program! Agita!

BTW, are there any leads on who the mystery graduating student with a year eligibility left is?  That was mentioned for the Terps in an interview with a recruiting analyst.  What the heck is going on with that?  It's hard to figure who is a graduating player with a year of eligibility left who has a) a coaching leaving/fired; b) a program they want to leave (for PT/academics) c) be in a different locale (i.e., close to home)... I cannot fathom who right now.
