Let's be honest -- if this team wins 2 or 3 more games, it'll be a miracle.  I'm aware the coaching staff is trying to rebuild the program from scratch, so it's fair game that we go through a transition year such as this.  But it's disappointing to say the least when we can't pull out a game like this.

there's that idiotic basketball IQ...final possession in OT with a chance to tie the game...and the team looked like they've never played basketball in their lives

But...but...they're only freshmen.     :idiot2:
they needed a point guard in this situation, Villanova had same problem when Wayns didn't have the ball.

Tough loss.  Kids played tough.  Fouls shooting was the killer. Moe is usually much better from the line.

NEWSFLASH:  we have a team of freshmen who are on scholarship who have never won anything at this level in their lives.  THEY SHOULD BE PLAYING HARD.

it's sickening to see posters throw around the "good effort guys!" and "atleast we played hard!" posts.  That is how LOSERS talk.  All that matters is W's...

We all realize these kids are freshmen, but that doesn't mean at this point of the season they should play like they did down the stretch today.  It screams to a lack of fundamentals, bad coaching, and lack of offensive ability.

Yes, our kids played hard...but so does almost every team in america.

I agree, but at least they were there at the end. Next year I probably won't be so patient.

Moral victories all around!!

Sometimes, with Freshman, you gotta take moral victories. Close games generally go to the more experienced teams. Today was no different.

I like that we played hard. We were able to cut it to a 1 possession game after in looked like we would lose by 10 in OT. I consider that a positive.

Other positives:
-Harrison was great. Kid reminded me so much of Dwight Hardy today. Just the go to guy.
-Greene kept us alive and in the game while Harrison was on the bench.
-We got to the line. Hitting the shots was a different story
-Harkless had a solid game, not his best, but solid. Brought it on the defensive end as well with 4 blocks.

Negatives:
-Terrible rebounding. At some points it was ridiculous. We don't box out sometimes leading to second and 3rd chances and put backs.
-Sloppy ball handling. We don't have a PG and that cost us, especially on the final possession. We couldn't even dribble!
-Free Throws. Gotta hit the gimme's
-Harrisons foul trouble. This is becoming a common thing for Harrison. We need him for the whole game. We win IMO if he doesn't have to sit so long.

On to the next one. I see improvements on offense, especially with Greene. If he can provide scoring we're a different team.

I'm just not going to let myself get all worked up about it like you do. Because I understand that you're gonna take your lumps with a team full of Freshman. Did I expect it to be this bad? No. But I also expected to have 3 more bodies before the season started. They are FRESHMEN, get over it!

Experience usually will prevail in close games and that's what happened today. Learning experience. We'll win this game next year with more bodies, a PG, and more experience.

Compared to the USF game we looked great. More uptempo and less running out the clock. Freshman mistakes. D LO looked great ,but has to be smarter w fouling. Greene stepped it up  and looked  very good. Gift is a role player @ this level, 2 points and 0 rebounnds., while Greene had 5 rebounds. Hopefully Obekpa can realize how much PT he ll have next year and sign on.

Phil Greene played a good game for the most part.  I actually saw him hit a jumper.

All good things in all good time.

I thought the team played well. Dunlap had no plan with 11 seconds on the clock. That was Normesque. Some were meant to hold the clipboard
