Great job out of him tonight...a nice follow up to the Villanova game.  I was worried he was losing confidence but he has really bounced back.  Just in time for a trip to Cameron.

When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

2 huge baskets when they tried to make a run there late. If he keeps getting better, He'll be a 4 year starter at the point

He'll still have his woes but he flashed some of his potential a little bit more for the doubters out there. The biggest thing he did well was penetrate the paint which opened up so many passing lanes

I still think Branch will take over the PG spot when he becomes available, but Greene has shown that he has the ability.

If Greene keeps improving his game, by next year, I really like Greene spelling for both Branch and D'Lo for significant minutes off the bench to give the team a real boost.  His versatility will give us great depth at both guard positions.

I dont know about that. Branch would be coming in during the meat of the schedule in late December without playing a game in over a year. Greene will have a ton of experience by then, and at this rate-hes improving by the minute

I definitely see him being one of those 4 year starters that is never the star but contributes every night.

Understood, but Branch is practicing even now.  He'll have a grasp and integrate pretty seamlessly I think.  I think that Branch is the more talented pure PG overall.  I think Greene will maintain plenty of minutes at both the 1 and 2 spots and in 3-guard lineups.  Greene is certainly improving fast, but gut tells me from what I've seen of Branch that he's more of a pure PG and will command lion's share of the minutes at the PG spot.

i give greene all the credit in the world for stepping into the roll he has had to assume this year but i really think he will become a huge spark for us off the bench. I can see him as a 6th man of the year award winner before his 4 year career is over

Phil was super good tonight-best assist total of the year.  he is quite quick and really pushed the ball tonight which led to the team having an overall good shooting night, one miss short of 50%.  he was also a terror on the defensive end.

he was rewarded for his effort by being included with Mo and D in the postgame interview; one happy lad--we stayed and gave him a shout out and got a smile and thumbs up.  he has shown growth throughout the year and that is what i want to see of of our freshmen for it will lead to better things in the future.

Phil played absolutely tremendous tonight. He got in to the lane on a consistent bases and found the open man whether it was in the paint for a dunk or a corner three. His floater is gonna be his trademark he loves to use it and can make it. Hes defense was also greeat tonight. I think he could turn into a jason clark type player.

I think you make a very fair point but if Amir Garrett has come in midseason and cracked the starting lineup. I know short rotation makes it easier to climb the latter but don't think it will be much of a deal. Regardless it's going to be a nice 3 man rotation at guard.

Where did you see the post game interview? On ESPNU they jumped right to another game I thought?

Easing yourself into the rotation as a wing player cant compare to doing the same as running the team. Im expecting a huge leap in the standings next year, rustyness and chemistry problems cant happen in December. Plenty of minutes to be had at the guard position though, Stith will lose all his minutes

He has the inate sense to know when to pull up for the floater or continue in for the layup. For a freshman in among the trees that's pretty special.
