I'm not usually someone who praises my team for a loss -- but I'm very proud to call myself a St. John's fan after that performance. Yes, the game still goes down as an L. But those kids today played as hard as they possibly could and really made a tough team in Duke battle down the stretch.

Listen, I don't know whether Harkless and Harrison try to test the waters after this year. To be honest, it's not even worth talking about too much because there is a lot of season left to play. But if they decide to stick around for the long haul, this is going to be a very good team next year when you add a possession point guard in Branch and some big men in possibly Sampson, Gathers, and/or Obekpa. And when I say that, no disrespect to Phil Greene at all -- as far I'm concerned, he is a huge part of our future and I look forward to seeing him when he moves back to his natural two guard position out there. I know sometimes I always seem so doom and gloom, but I can't help but take away great things from this game. Hold your heads high boys and my message to Lavin: Get some big boys in here and let's take the next step towards being a national power.

Harrison?  No way.  He will be a 4 yr player.  No knock on him but think Scotty Reynolds who I think might have tested after Jr year but still came back.

I'm the president of Harrison fan club, but due to his size and lack of position, he'll be here for four years.

Loved the fact that Harkless slammed the ball at the end of the game. His smoothness hides his heart and desire at times it seems.

You could tell he was upset at the refs all game. His 4th foul was absolutely absurd and he was visibly upset @ the refs

This team is filled with guys who love to compete. You can see the potential oozing from this team and if they had another few bodies, wow this team is going to be so good.

Right on point Dave. Recruits see this as well. Great transition year!

Nothing like being a G-men and Redmen fan these days!

Amen.  Also amazing how having a guy like Lav at the top helps the positive exposure we get as a program.  Dickie V and Brent were showing so much love for the Johnnies today.  Now Dickie V, to his credit, has always been a supporter, but has seemed even more so since Lavs came on board.  And Lavs work with Brent and others at ESPN all those years only helps our program.

Dickie V even got on the fanbase for not showing up against W.VA....

I had a good feeling that we would play Duke close today (one of the few on the boards).  Moe and Harrison are really picking up their game, and the other freshman are all coming along really well.  We are going to be a DANGEROUS team to play down the stretch.

Helluva fight.  So proud of this team's fight today.  Could have given up when they trailed by 21.  Sorry, IllWhatever, I believe in moral victories.

Really thought it was going to get ugly out there for awhile, but the guys showed their mental toughness.  They are still making 'young' mistakes, as they continue to gain mroe experience they are going to win some games... hopefully in the Big East Tournament.

What a second half by our guys.   I will gladly eat crow this afternoon, because I thought Duke was a terrible matchup for our guys, but man did they play hard in the second half.  Hate to celebrate moral victories, and I'm sure the staff and players don't enjoy it either, but they really showed a lot today.

I hope Lavin can find the pieces we're looking for, because with those extra parts next season could be really fun.

The best part about the last two games for me is that the talent and potential is so freaking obvious it's smacking you right in the face!  Earlier in the season there were games were you really needed to look hard to see something to be optimistic about amidst all the turnovers, shot clock violations, and bricks.    But now you can see these guys starting to put things together.

"To me, it was a loss today for me," Krzyzewski said.

What a piece of garbage he is.

He knows his team is going nowhere in March, time for back surgery again.

I honestly thought they sucked. They have 3 huge guys, and a bunch of girls at guard.

Hope those decommits saw that too and they will be coming into a very unique situation next year - not losing one of them.

At the beginning of the season, I wanted to see a group of players who (1) would show improvement; (2) not quit in adversity and (3) grow together as a team.  while I hate to see us lose, I saw all three today.

Improvement--little and big things such as Phil's growth which is higher than anyone could have imagined; Amir's growth each game despite missing 4 months at school; Mo-no mo to say just look at the results; D is scoring like he said but again he has eliminated the fouls he committed earlier in the season and not getting in trouble so he is a factor at the end of the game; Sir got hurt today by the effort he put forth in a game that was called the way it was.

Adversity--this team would not quit in a hostile environment today; it would have been very easy to fold the tents BUT today they earned incredible respect in defeat.

Teamwork--really starting to show in the way they play defense and the help.

Keep it up lads--there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
