The x-factor here is Garrett.  He still hasn't hit his full stride yet.  STJ will be a tough out in the Big East tournament.  I wouldn't want to have the task of ending D'Angelo Harrison's season.  GMac 2.0 at the Garden.

Think we can win CBI tourney or CSI or whatever those tournaments are called. That's if we don't get into NIT which we could also win unless we meet a veteran teams who beats us with experience. Tomorrow the world.

In Norm's last season, the team went 6-12 in the BE and made the NIT. I think this team will, at the minimum, have 6 wins in the BE. It's pretty amazing that this team will have as many BE wins as those guys as juniors. It's also amazing how this team as already won 2 road BE games compared to that team who took like 3 years.

I like that comparison. Harrison has a very similar game. Both are streaky 3 point shooters. Great competitors. Great free throw shooters. Defense, ehh, not so much.

It's hard to compare those years in terms of wins and rank. The strength of the Big East that year might have been at it's best.

However if you want to compare the DJ Kennedy class' freshman year to this years team than I think you have something.

Yes, but the bottom of the Big East was worse than ever.  USF, Rutgers, STJ, Providence, Depaul...it was gross.

Wasn't as bad as you're making it out to be.

USF finished ahead of UConn and had 20 wins. Remember they had NBA player, Dominique Jones.

I'll give you DePaul but right below St. John's was Providence. They were pretty good but just so young. Brooks, Council, Greedy, and Curry was a tough team to beat especially if they got hot. They weren't shy shooters either.

You dont think Harrison is a good defender? I think the kid really enjoys defense and hes pretty good at it already. Thought it was pretty easy to see that tonight.

Harrison did not come in with a rep for defense but he sure as hell takes a lot of pride in it. Wasn't the case early in the season either. Big kudos to coaching staff for that but he jumps passing lanes and takes charges with the best of them.

I think we narrowly miss the top 8.   Because unfortunately somebody misses a game or two with injury.  We'll win 3 more in conference, beat UCLA and finish 10th in the BE.

Interesting to see if we can hit full stride by tournament time.  Not expecting anything because well have a tough seed, but that could be a nice cap on the season.  Especially if Lavin is back on the sidelines for it.

we might have the easiest Big East schedule down the stretch of those teams with similar records. I think we get 4 more wins

We have a schedule remaining with a lot of winnable games on it.  In addition we just beat WVU and now DePaul and Duke needed reffing help for them to squeak by us at Cameron.  We're playing decent ball now despite our depth, height and youth shortcomings.  Prediction? We WILL finish in the top 8 in the league this season.  It won't be enough to propel us into the NCAA's unless we make a Uconn-like run in the BET, but NIT is in reach.

I think we go 4-4 in BIg East the rest of the way. Beating Cincy,Seton Hall,DePaul and Notre Dame. At Pitt and Rutgers to end the season is rough. I think Pitt wins Big East tourny
