I'm guessing this goes deeper than just tickets with Colleary.  If others are involved, it will be rooted out.  Shame for fans and alums who have been effected.  I donated last year to Red-white and never received membership.  I called to follow up and was told Colleary was overseeing the red-white and I should receive membership invitations, which I never ended up receiving.  .  I wouldn't be surprised if donations to SJU and red-white were also effected and im now wondering if this is why I was never given credit for my red-white donations.  Just a hunch at ts point, but I found it strange last year and have heard some things that make me believe that the theft is bigger than just tickets to the big east tourney.

Brian Colleary is in some deep sh*t. They did this to most Red/White members. In all likelyhood, SJ is going to have to refund a lot of money to a lot of people. And that is at the very least.

This single scalper explanation is the foundation of the STJ's claim of fraud within the ticket system. Once you conclude the single scalper could not create all of the mayhem wit the season ticket holders, you'd have to conclude that there was a second scalper. And if there was a second scalper, then by definition, there had to be a conspiracy.

I dealt with Kevin Barry directly with my contributions the last couple of years and I know for a fact my donation went directly to the school. Got my membership and over a certain level you become a member of the Loughlin Society and I was invited to their events as well which would have been impossible if my donation wasn't recorded and accounted for. He does a GREAT job

It is not that Red/White donations are being stolen. No one is accused of that, yet. What has happened, and this is some of what I have been made aware of right now, is that Colleary sold tickets to scalpars/brokers that should have gone to Red/White members.

He, and others kept the profits from those sales. If it were just the athletic department doing this, and keeping the money, it might not be illegal. It would be disgraceful, but possibly not illegal. Either way, EVERY Red/White member deserves more than just an explanation.

I hate this University. I truly do. And now you all know why.

Why would you continue to buy season tickets for a school you hate?  No offense, but that is as dumb as some of the stupidity you accuse others of on a regular basis.

I don't hate the basketball team. I hate the University. The school's shady rep is 100% justified. Not the first time St.John's people have stolen from alumni, students and donors.

Them why post here!? St. John's has been very good to my family and I for one will always be greatful to the school. 14 members of my family attend or graduated from the school, including my parents, brother and my family. My grandfather was thread ROTC instructor and then went on to work for the university for 20yrs. My dad, my uncle and myself all became Commissioned officers from the St. John's ROTC program. The reason why STJ has ROTC is because during the Vietnam era other schools were throwing ROTC off their campus, and STJ invited the program on to campus because they support the military and America. My dad who still works at the university was called up from the reserves onto active duty, the school supported him 100% and even father Harrington wrote him a letter. When I was deployed the athletic department sent my platoons st johns t-shirts and had our platoon photo their website. During my second deployment St. Johns staff sent me school supplies for the Iraqi kids. During my time at the school at johns gave the the chance start a fraternity(any Pi Kapps out there?) be apart of the presidents society and so much more. Let's not forget when other NYC schools were not allowing students to attend because they were not "White Anglo Saxton Prostestant" enough St. Johns said come and we will give that chance. That is why so many old time alumni are dedicated to this school. There are many reason to be frustrated with the university and the way they go about business. For one they. The the basketball program rot for so long that it will take years to rebuild. But hopefully this is the beginning of getting rid of the dead wood and getting a fresh start. You have a write to express your opinion, but I will always be there to defend my school. I am and always will be proud to be a Johnny! WE ARE ST. JOHN'S!!!

If somebody is stealing, it is not the University that should be hated Poison.  It's some rogue employees.

St. John's University isn't perfect, but the vast majority of people who make up SJU are first rate people.  I am so proud of my association with the school and its mission.  I am not going to let some shady character bring down our school or reputation.  We are far bigger than that.

Yes thankfully this is first example of a University employee stealing since last year.

I agree St.johns U def does have a shady rep when it comes to money, especially with current students. From constantly charging ridiculous and unneccessary fines/tickets, to holding back sending out our refund checks to the very last minute (and sometimes not sending them at all unless you keep on persistently calling/going to financial aid), to the embellezment charges on various high ranking, long standing employees, and now this ticket business. Stjohns students know  exactly how shady stjohns acts with money, and it's absolutely one of the major contributing factors to one of the worst student body retention rates in all of America (even they acknowledge this).
so many kids believe this a fine school with a great rep only to enroll here and be disappointed and transfer. Now I'm not saying that this is the only school that acts funny/shady in terms of money but certainly every school does not behave in this manor.

Someone had an ax to grind with Colleary. This goes on at EVERY school. Big East tickets aren't on sale to the public. It's well documented that companies/schools "distribute" these tickets. Most employees look at this as a bonus.

Yea St. John's is crazy for writing parking tickets to people who don't pay for parking permits like everyone else, handing out fines to kids who cause damage in the dorms, and making students pay for food and books. How dare they? They were so shady in not telling me if I didn't follow rules there would be consequences to pay.
