Last 8 games D'angelo is shooting 50% from 3.  32-63 since Villanova.  I'm done judging his shot.  The kid can shoot.   Everyone who said he would round into form and would be shooting much better by the end of the year was right.   If he continues to improve next season we'll have one of the best offensive weapons in the conference.

And that stat includes all the desperation shots when the clock is winding down.

Great point, Zook.  He take a huge amount of shots with no time left on the shot clock after a wasted possession.  Those are things that the stats never indicate...and usually falls squarely on the shoulders of the team's best shooter:  "Quick, launch it."  Harrison also has to take a ton of shots with guys all over him or out of rhythm in transition.  It's crazy he's shooting the % he is shooting.  I thin that # takes a dive over the last half-dozen games if for nothing else than tired legs coupled with being the defensive focus.

Would agree but it always seems to be that our worst offensive player Sir Dom (who I love anyway) has the ball when the shot clock is running out. :)

HAHAHA Dom is always wide open, though.  His problem is that he thinks about it before he shoots it.  That will improve with time... his mechanics wil as well.

His numbers would be even better if you subtract some of those desperation heaves he's had to throw up when we were down by 20.

Edit:  sorry, I posted before I read Sookjo's post expressing the same thought.

68 made three-pointers for 3'Angelo.  Only four more to tie, five to break the all-time STJ single-season record.

Three questions about this potential record breaking:
1. Will ESPN break into it's regularly scheduled programming to show it live?
2. Will Carmine pull a Tonya Harding on Harrison?
3. Could the push shot make a comeback and become as popular as it was in the 50's?

Will Avery Patterson and his family be in attendance to watch the passing of the torch?

Hopefully carmineabbatiello will be there.

What a wonderful thread to read. Everyone is lighthearted, true fans of StJ, and have no need to be caustic, negative, or, critical. NICE!
Chris Mullin was wonderful; I saw every home game he played at StJ and dozens of road games including Lexington in '85. Probably 25% of his goals (maybe more) were from the three point line, not unlike Tony Jackson '57-'61. Too bad there was no 3 pt. line then. Few will ever match those guys.  On the other hand Harrison is a sensationaly great outside shooter and one of the finest and cordial young men I have ever met in a StJ uniform. He is enthusiastic, playful, confident, creative, and loyal. He is already in my 54 year All StJ's Great Personality list. Make it your business to meet him one on one. He will astound you with his poise and he'll make your day better. I want him to get everything he sets his mind to get at StJ and more.

Chris Mullin is, in my opinion, one of the top 5 best pure shooters that I've gotten the opportunity to see shoot a basketball.  His release was so quick and effortless.  If he had had the benefit of the three point line, he would still hold the st. John's record.

I'm trying to attend.  Don't know about Avery and family.  I hope they make it and Avery get's announced.

I really hope he breaks this record and shatters it. It's so embarrassing that Patterson even holds an SJU record in anything.

I think the 71 is including the exhibition games

Yes ESPN has stats for 30 games not 28

Having trouble copying the link but borzello has D'angelo #10 on his freshman of the year watch list. Mo is #5.

What's embarrassing is your disdain for Johnny legends that did nothing but contribute positively during their all too brief tenure here.

He will be the greatest three point shooter on the worst 3 point shooting in the nation.

That should give him an extra spot in the record books.
