Pecora is desperate for Severe. BTW, St. Rays lost earlier.

“@NYPost_Brazille: Fordham head coach Tom Pecora, Rutgers assistant Van Macon, St. John's assistant Tony Chiles taking in CHSAA quarters, per @CNG_Staszewski”

“@NYPost_Brazille: Scores of players they are looking at, obviously Chiles in to see Bishop Loughlin's Khadeen Carrington and Macon for CK's Jon Severe later”

I wish we went after others the way the staff has looked at Carrington.  I think Severe will wind up at Rutgers or Duquesne.  He recently cancelled his Alabama trip and not sure he will reschedule .

Happy, what other guards should we be looking at for 14 & 15? Thanks!

All the kids have been mentioned on this board before Mckennon, Williams etc..  That being said you will always get the late bloomers and the list might change.  Kids like Terry Larrier and Bashir Ahmed from JFK will continue to develop.  I mean look how fast Kemba Walker shot up between junior and senior years or even a kid like Severe.   I do think we are wasting our time with Carrington IMO .

Damn, even a HS team puts 72 pts. on Iona's bad defense

He does some good things on the court.  Those things won't work against better competition IMO.  It's just bizarre that this is the kid that the staff has finally decided to smother .

Carrington is the type of player we've been wanting for the last couple years. He's very athletic but has the basketball skills to go along with it unlike certain guys Lavin and Co. have recruited and signed recently. He still has another year to get better and the only major flaw in his game at this point is that he can't go right. I'd much rather have him locked up than gamble that one of these under the radar guys will develop into a high-major player

Wonder when he starts to feel some heat...They out and out stink, routinely get blown out and aren't getting better...Supporters have to be questioning why Iona and Manhattan are bringing in better players and neither have the A10 as part of the sales pitch...

Very good shooter. Not exactly lights out but he will definitely hurt you if you give him space.

His basketball IQ doesnt really stand out either way. A couple times I've seen him pick up two fouls in the 1st half but his coach trusts him enough to keep him in and his coach knows better than I do

Carrington and Williams form one of the best backcourts in the city.

Only now is Williams starting to receive Division I looks.

“In my eyes we’re the best backcourt in the league,” Williams said. “When we share the ball like we do it’s hard to stop us.”

The 6 foot 2 guard holds offers from Rutgers, Drexel, Quinnipiac and Manhattan and lists Rutgers as his early favorite.

“It’s fun playing with Mike because when you need a shot you know he’s going to get you the ball.”Carrington said.

Carrington holds offers from St. John’s, UConn, SMU, Florida State, Iowa State, Pitt and Providence, to name a few.

Why not recruit both? Willaims sounds like a dead eye shooter.
