LOL Sorry that was just me throwing it out there with no info at all.  I saw his photo and the kid just looks like he should be a Johnny...Tyrone Grant, Charles Mineland....

Let's be honest, though, Lav can recruit with anyone.  He just beat out Baylor and KANSAS for Sampson.  With Harkless all over the news as a first-rounder, Lavin can walk into the living room of a guy like Bennett and say "Moe Harkless wasn't even a top 40 recruit, he's the exact same height as you, and now he's a first round pick after one year.  Why?  Because we are the only staff in the country that has three assistants with NBA experience.  NBA All-Stars fly all the way to NY just to be worked out by Rico Hines.  And we had a system that allows you to be a basketball player.  At STJ, you will play forward and center...on defense that means you will cover two-guards, SF's, PF's, and centers.  Offensively, you will be able to play on the perimeter as a SF and inside like a PF.  That is versatility that made Moe shoot up the draft charts.  You will be a primary offensive weapon...when you're open, I want you to shoot.  If you do well in New York, everyone notices.  We also have what might be the best shooter in the country, D'Angelo, and he needs at leas one man in his face at all times regardless of the type of defense being run.  That gives you space."

IMO, we will be better than UK for the next three years.  They could be losing:  Terrence Jones, Darius Miller, Anthony Davis, Doron Lamb, Marquis Teague, and Kidd-Gilchrest.  You can't replace that with freshmen and be better than the soph's we return.

If they lose 5/6 of those guys I listed than, yes, definitely.  They have one four-star recruit signed and they also get RyanHarrow eligible, but they could face the problem of posibly losing their top six leading scorers!

Huh, they have 3 players signed, 1 4-star and 2 5-star recruits.  Poythress and Goodwin are both 5-stars and Cauley is a 4-star.  It is also widely thought that they lead for Nerlens Noel especially with Davis all but certain to be a 1 and done. 

I don't know if UK will be 31-1 type of good again next year but even with early departures they should be OK.

I'm no Calipari fan, but you do recall that in the 2010 draft they lost John Wall, Demarcus Cousins, Patrick Patterson, Eric Bledsoe and Daniel Orton all in the first round - and proceded to go to the Final Four the next season, right?

Exactly, it literally happens every year with him.  He has to replenish a big time freshmen class every year because he basically loses the entire class every year.  Last year it was Kanter and Knight.

At some point it might catch up to him where he gets burned by this but his track record at Memphis and at UK is such that I think he knows how to win this way.

I don't disagree that Cal reloads annually and I think his class will be ridiculous once again when all is said and done (Noel and Bennett?), but next year will be a bit different if they lose all four underclassmen to the draft with the departures of seniors Darius Miller and Eloy Vargas. 

They lost a lot of picks last year, but Cal brought back a ton of experience:  SR Miller, SR Vargas, and sophs Doron Lamb and Terrence Jones.  Next year he could only be returning a trio of guys that only have a year of college experience a piece, the leading scorer, Wiltjer would be returning only 5.4 points.

If some guys decide to stay, the story changes.  They'll be good regardless.  I just think we'll be better--especially if Moe stays.

You do understand though that he has 3 kids already in the fold not 1, correct?  I think you were looking at 2013.

Yes but Vargas rarely plays.  He essentially goes with a 7 man rotation: Davis, Jones, Kidd-Gilchrist, Teague, Lamb, Miller and Wiltjer.  Wiltjer should be back.  He will get heavy burn next year.
