So I realized that the guy Fratto tweeted is just a fan. I thought he was like someone important.

Where is Bennett talk coming from? Have only heard the thorough breds mentioned with him.

Mind-set.  You just HEARD a thoroughbred mentioned with him.   Lavin ain't running no pony-ride here.
With all do respect I am an alum and season ticket holder for the past 40 yrs and while I would love to attain and believe we can attain the status of thoroughbred we aint there yet. Sorry but we as a program are not on the level of the Kentuckys N Carolina and Kansas.

Obviously we are not in their class and not event close. We have made one NCAA appearance in the last 10 years while most of the teams have won one if not more championships and a bunch of finals fours. We are closer to them now then we have been in years but we aren't close and frankly I don't think we will ever be them. We don't have the facilities or money to be those schools but I think we can a top 25 team most years and make some a few runs at a final four with Lavin at the helm. If we pull recruits like we are now who are top 50-100 guys we will be a very good team for the future.

I'll say one thing though, since Lavin's been here, you can't name 15 teams that have recruited better than him IMO. We're not that far off. Yes, Kentucky, Kansas, Duke and NC are on their own level but after that I'll take Lavin head to head against most recruiters.

Have to enjoy 6 top 100 kids, including Branch, in past two cycles.  Not too shabby and prognosis is good for that level of attainment in years to come.

In the 80's for a couple of years with back to back 31 win seasons which were hellacious but even the second year team lost a second round game as a one seed to Auburn by like 18 pts not making it to the sweet 16.

On redmen.com, some posters are talking about a mystery center. Does any one know about him and how interested is he in us?

not long ago whencats were kits poor tubbs with rondo in had did his best. Money and faciltys meant little. Off he went. Along Cal came nd put the babes inleague, so thekeep coming the do, a bathroom if that is all to take the fall. Not always to win butgeta number and go. Steve with no rolls or a silver palace willget and place them where he will.and then, without being unc he shall win games forever more. And then to keep it going ever more. BE titles laid upon the floor. Some local kids spliced in andso thanks to to mo for getting it going.

They're probably referring to Michael Chandler. It's not a mystery that St. John's has had some interest in him but he isn't a certainty at this point.

Correct. Certainly not a lock at this point (although I've heard as of tonight that two are), but a worthwhile venture at this point.  Obekpa I think has sailed, but Chandler, while having had some immaturity issues is certainly An excellent prospect if his head is screwed on right.
