DJ Kennedy on Erie Bayhawks

Not sure if this has been discussed here in a while, but has anybody else been following DJ's numbers in the D-League. They are very impressive.
Here is his game log and season stats:

What's most impressive to me is the amount of assists he's getting. Also, he's shooting a solid 37% from 3. I would be shocked if he doesn't get an NBA look next season putting up those kind of numbers.

DJ had something you just can't teach. Heart and desire. There is a place for him in the league

Who is more prepared for the NBA? DJ or Moe?

I think Moe has a higher ceiling. The kid can rebound just off his sheer athleticism. I see DJ as more of a glue guy off the bench

Prepared? Definitely DJ. I don't see a team in the NBA where he couldn't provide valuable bench minutes. The guy plays hard 100% of the time, and is a jack of all trades.

Just sucks the Knicks sent down Jerome Jordan for Bayhawks playoff run and still got Knocked out in the first rd. He is the Key to the Knicks depth I wish they would throw him 8-12 minutes a game.
Attack basketball, pressure defense, 40 minutes of hell ... Early on it might be 30 minutes of hell, then 10 minutes of what the hell are you doing?"

He'd have to play the three.  He is very limited athletically by NBA standards.  I don't know if he would be able to defend the quicker two guards of the league.  He also doesn't have ideal length to play with the insanely long wings of the NBA, but he's a strong, versatile kid.

I think he could catch on for a bit, but the odds are stacked against him with what he was given physically.   Moe doesn't have those limitations, but I think he made a HUGE mistake coming out before he was ready.  It will cost him millions over the next 4-5 years.

They dont come much tougher than DJ Kennedy. Kid was a warrior. Still cant get over him not being able to play in the tourney as a senior. Such a shame
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

Terrible for him and us.
I see DJ as somewhat of a poorman's Lazar Hayward.  Hayward really isn't getting much burn in the NBA.  He's averaging under 2ppg, but he was a better shooter, rebounder, and overall player than DJ was.  The one advantage DJ has over Hayward is his passing ability.

Ive heard you say that before Marillac and im not sure if I agree with the comparison. DJ was a perimeter play maker and all though Hayward could shoot the 3 he did most of his work inside. They both have a similar toughness about them though.

I love marquette players. Mcneal, mathews, hayward, Odom, and Crowder were some of my favorite big east players over the last 5 or so years.

I think DJ could run the point in the NBA. Maybe not for 40 minutes a game, but I'd like to see him bring it up more often.

I think he'd get his pocket picked too often.

Dam they just played the Knicks last night! Their small forward spot is wide open I like Gee but he is not way better than DJ. I hope he can get some minutes against the Spurs because with a good showing maybe next year  the Spurs will give him a look, they are quick to give a NBDL player a multi year contract

Great to hear. Goes to show what hard work and determination can do. Not many guys would be where DJ is right now after ACL surgery and going undrafted.
