I'm not familiar with coaching circles, but it seems to me the best fit is somebody like Dunlap. Most assistant coaches are already tied to their perspective "coaching trees". And are waiting out a head coaching gig.
What superb tacticians are out there that make the rounds on the coaching clinics? And is there anybody that's talked about a lot but is only at the DII level?
Seems like a great x's and o's guy from the DII level, or an NBA assistant who is like the 5th assistant on the roster - those would be the guys I would look at. Because we can offer them two years of high profile assistant work in the BE, followed by a chance to be a head coach somewhere.
But who knows.
