Brownlee played in the NBDL last season - 8pts 5 rebs in about 20 mintues a game for the Maine Red Claws.   The Red Claws are affilliated with the Boston Celtics.  Don't know if that gets Justin a shot with the Celtics summer league team or not.

Does anyone have any idea what an NBDL contract looks like $$ wise?

from answers.com...or whatever that site is:

The NBA itself claims that they range from $27,000 to $40,000, but National Public Radio reported that the real figure is $12,000 to $24,000. I guess it depends on whom you believe.

my guess is the NBA  is annualizing the numbers and the take home is actually the latter..

wow that's pretty astonishing... I mean how can someone (let alone the families that half of these guys support) live on a salary like that?  You got guys in the league making triple that PER GAME... NBA isn't exactly sharing the wealth huh? but i guess guys down on the farm in baseball don't get paid any better either...

That's why the overseas leagues have become so much more attractive and popular. Walter Berry said he made a great living over there. So is Bootsy. Team gives you free housing in the form of free apartment or villa. The salary isn't as high as NBA, but the out-of-pocket isn't either.

Interesting to see how much Burrell and Hardy made this season. Also Evans and Horne in Germany.

That's tough. Boston has a lot of good players. Now they just added Sullinger and Joseph. I think Brownlee is as good as Joseph.

Yes, but the D-League is still the gateway to the Show.  You almost never see a kid go overseas who comes back directly to an NBA gig.  It's usually back to the D-League, and then a call-up from there.

it's what most people make when they get out of college.  if you work hard and believe in yourself you can make it.   it's like grad school...except someone is paying you.

When you factor in the huge number of college grads who are making NOTHING their first year out of college in this economy and job market - that's not really an unreasonable average figure.

Unfortunately you have those individuals from Ivy league schools looking for jobs or are underemployed. Recent grads today have it tough. Anyway it is not important how much $ you make the first year out of college. Whats important is that you set yourself up to make $ thruoghout your carrier.

Newsman was that also when a college credit cost $100 a semester?   NRB is correct and $12-24k is completely unacceptable for a reasonably intelligent SJU graduate, especially in the NY area.

If you can only find part-time work in a shitty economy, those totals are what you might be pulling.

I hate to break it to you young guys, but a lot of older guys who lost their big-money jobs will take anything if it means losing their house, and those lower-paying, foot-in-the-door jobs that might have been yours out of college are less plentiful because of it.

Newsie. For as long as I knew you on here we obviously knew your field and profession.  We you in the TV/Digital side as opposed to print?  Since Print is dying more and more each day.
