very impressed with pointer. talk of him running the point. wow. didn't see that coming. i think we're in for a big year.
Dom was a top recruit and I see him emerging as a multi-faceted pro prospect in the coming years. He has great "tude" and athleticism and unlike T. Baily doesn't need the ball to DOMinate. I think Lavin knows what he's got with him and will encourage him to freewheel on both ends of the court.
I'm a huge fan of Dom, but I can't even begin to understand why coach was hinting at him running the point, and definitely disagree that he's on a path towards being a pro-prospect. He does seem to have a great attitude, and is extremely athletic, you're right, but those attributes don't make you a pro-prospect from his position. Ball handling and shooting do. Dom didn't show any ability to create offense last year, his game was pretty much: defend well, and score on a breakaway or a defensive breakdown. I mean this as constructive criticism only, not to rag on the guy, but he needs to do more than that this year.
There's potential sure, but I don't see the signs that say he's about to break out. It's more of a hope on our part I think.
