I like Greene as the second leading scorer. I think 2-5 will be very tight in the 8-11 ppg range.

You really could make a case for 6 or 7 guys at 8-10 ppg. Will be a fun year

A few like 2 is possible.  Davis at almost 5/game is crazy.  I should have been more specific.  These types of predictions are difficult.  We have sooo many ore options, half of which we haven't seen yet.  Lots of new pieces.

with the number of players and expctations we have for their abilities, I hope we will be able to controll minutes and not run Dangelo into the ground once Branch can play afterwhich I would like to have max out at 30 minutes/game so he has full energy unlike last year when he was overused

i won't go into all the stats, but our top 2 players this year will be: DLo and Sanchez.

Points
DLo = 18pts/game
Sanchez = 15/game

Rebounds
Sanchez = 9
Sampson = 8

Curious - folks on this board expect Sanchez's stats to all go UP moving from JC to the Big East?  Per Zags story (from when he committed) "Primo" averaged 10.2 pts, 8.0 rebs and 1.9 blocks  this past season.   Yet I'm seeing predicitions of 15 pts, 9 rebs and 2-3 blocks here in this thread.   Our last 3 top JC transfers (GG, Hardy and Brownlee) all had SIGNIFICANT drops from their JC production their first year in Division 1.  And I don't believe any of them came in with competion from other newcomers like Sanchez is (Sampson/Obekpa/Jones).

If he comes close to his JC numbers, I'll be thrilled.

I have a pet peeve regarding stats and expectations.  Folks who throw out "he should be 20 pts a game" or "he should pull down 10 boards a game"  or he should be a "double double player" or "he should get 8-10 assists easy"

Predicting 9 rebs a game?   Ron Artest never pulled down more than 6.4.   Zendon Hamilton was 8.7 as a SENIOR.    It's why Mo's 8.6 last year was remarkable.    Two years ago DJs 5.6 led the team.   3 years ago it was DJ at 6.1.    4 years ago Sean at 7.1.   5 years ago Burrell at 5.9.

Last year the entire Big East had only 3 players with 9 boards a game.

And don't get me started on asssits!  :)

Hardy and Brownlee excelled because of Lavin. That is clear to me. I don't relate their lack of success in year one to inexperience. It was incompetence on the part of who else, Norm.

You defiantly got it right. Only opportunity I had to witness his game was on TV in JCNT and he appeared comfortable but far from dominate

The guards on that team were gunners and never met a shot they didn't like.  That being said they are were very effective at making those shots.

I expect similar JC numbers here.

I think CR's points about statistics is a good one.   20pts and 10rebounds sounds like a "good" year, until you realize that Kevin Jones was the only D-1 player to put up those numbers last season.

Generally I think it's easy for us as fans to inflate expected numbers for a player.
Also, it's very easy to mix numbers you hear used in the nba game which is longer and has more scoring.

Anyway, as for my predictions...
D'angelo leads the team in scoring.   Right about where he was last season, maybe a point more...somewhere between 17-18ppg.

Amir is our second leading scorer at 12 per game.

Nobody has more than 4 assists per game.   D'angelo leads the way with 3.5.    I expect Branch averages 3, and Amir 2+.

Nobody has more than 7 rebounds per game.   Sampson and Sanchez both grab 6+ though.

Jerry McNamera  4 yr avg 15.5, best yr 17.2. Jerry was first team all BE last 2 years. Our guy going to be working on a new position. No one scores in the BE just because he wants to. As a team goal I would love to have 3 guys score 10 + a game. Is that possible?

Possible.  It would mean we share the ball more though, and our ball movement was disgusting last year.
