All I can keep repeating is that the team that went to the NCAA's in 2011 had ONE player ranked in the top 100 out of high school.

You can keep repeating it, but it's meaningless, because those players were all seniors. They were 21 or 22 years old, with the benefit of four years of playing experience, maturity, and weight training. Ten or eleven of them were 6 months away from playing professional basketball. How they were rated coming out of high school is completely irrelevant.

So you think that Norm would have led them to the Dance as well?

I don't think Norm would have made the tourney with the 85 team. Probably would have revolved the offense around Moses.

Well they made the final 4 that season and Moses was an ok point guard but the team had Mullin, Berry, Wennington, Glass, Jackson , Ron Rowan and Shelton Jones whom Louie barely played for reasons known only to Louie . I am sure you heard of one or two of those guys.

BTW my three year old son can name the entire Mets starting lineup and they stink! Being three is no excuse for lack of knowledge about the best team in the school's history!

Norm would have sat Mullin and Berry on the bench, like he did with our two best players in Hardy and Brownlee 3 years ago.

I was not a college basketball fan let alone an STJ fan when I was 3.  I was a baseball fan and like your son I can name those crappy Yankees from then.

Your right because Fun rarely comments on actual basketball.

I talk about basketball with people who know something about it. Hence our dearth of intercourse.

Did someone say intercourse?   :P

When I experience a dearth of intercourse I turn to craigslist.

what Needs to happen

First, several players who were completely awful last year need to getter better. For example Dom Pointless and Phil Greene, who stank, they'll have to not stink.

One of the most ridiculous things i've read, you couldn't be more wrong

The teens that took the court last season had to play full games.  They weren't just first year players.  They played 40 minute games against teams that had the luxury to bring in high ranked freshmen and sophs off the bench to spell their juniors and seniors.

This year is the start of a return to normalcy with a more balanced roster.  Gift coming off the bench with fresh legs will be a more effective player. We all know that too much was asked of him.

And why rip a freshmen player?  Those kids deserve respect for what they did on the court last season.

I cant wait for this season to begin.

Lavin had great success at UCLA riding Wooden's coattails, and some success at SJ, riding Norm's.

2nd part is one of the funniest statements ever written.

Funny is another word for it.

Even after the success they had, on paper it still looked like a weird mishmash of players to me. The problem is that Norm was way too inflexible to get anything out of them.

By the time they were seniors, those kids deserved better. And Norm Roberts did not deserve to be the coach at St.John's.

Truer words were never spoken although might amend to by the time they were sophs.

We are going 10 deep.

Harrison, Sanchez, Sampson will be our top 3 scoring options.

I think Garrett has a great chance to crack that trio...
