Seeing the new contract Bill Self just signed at Kansas (like 3.8 mil per), the money Cal and other high paid coaches make-if coach Lavin is as successful over the next few seasons as we all anticipate he will be-and some other big time program comes a calling with a huge contract offer-does St. J's PONY UP and pay coach the big bucks? I ask because I am not sure what the answer would be. I am just curious as to what some of you might think and I am very much looking forward to this season but we have to recognize there are sharks out there in the waters.

Unless it was a ridiculous offer, I don't see him chasing the money.  He took a very long time waiting for the right place to open.  I really think NYC is the perfect spot for him and his wife.

In addition, SJU will give him excellent money, even if not Bill Self money.  SJU also offers other things like NYC, stability, a supportive Administration and not overly oppressive fan base.  Don't discount all of those factors.  Most places, it's win fast or you're gone.  I think Lavin is trying to build something a bit mo long-term here for sustained success.  He's got the right formula And is recruiting talent to land SJU in the top 25 every year.  I could be totally wrong here, but I think Lavin found himself a hidden gem here at SJU.  A perfect fit of a coach for NYC and a good fit for him as well.  If we are winning National championships, we should also be making more money and thereby paying him mo too.  Hope more fans buy season ticket packages over the next few years and we start serious winning.  The rest will come together.

Wit full respct, Bills Self has a championship and a runner-up in the last four year.

So.... the pay scale is a lil diffnt.
Parking only for NYCHA permit holders.

Since T Boone Pickens is not an alumnus who donated $200MM to OSU, this is why you need $1,000 per ticket affairs like this week's fund raiser and contributions to Red and White directed to men's basketball.

I'd rather have Norm. At least he lucked into players who his replacement could use.

Ok Mrs. Cooley.  You are ridiculous...every other post you make is about Cooley.  You love interest will be fired in 3-4 years at Providence.

Henton is a STUD.  I've been saying for a year.  I'd be hard-pressed to find three guys in the conference I'd take over him.
