If NBC showcases the big east and pays the dollars, take it.  Espn is the assassin of the Big East Conference as we knew it.  Market this league to the best network deal we can and keep running with it.

living in florida, i couldn't have been happier with st john's tv coverage last year.  two things attributed to that.  first was the number of high major opponents, which i feel is in the best interest of the team, and should be the case every year.  second, espn has many channels, as well as live streams.  i'm wondering how the coverage will be this year and down the road.  i'm also wondering if sny will cover some games.

It'll be interesting to start seeing college basketball on Fox.   Also wouldn't be surprised if CBS and the cbs sports network make a play for the Big East as these negotiations go on.   Not a lot of people have mentioned them so far, but they're trying to expand their inventory as well.   Problem with them is you'll never get on the main network in primetime during the week,  would have to be the cable channel.

Totally agree about his enthusiasm.   But surprisingly Fox can't use Gus for basketball.   Apparently he's set to do Big10 Network games.   

"Fox's top two announcing team are Justin Kutcher (play-by-play), Steve Kerr (analyst) and Laura McKeeman (court reporter). Steve Physioc (play-by-play) and Marques Johnson (analyst) will also call games.

And then the dominoes will fall and the BE will be no more.

Not much a TV contract with that group of schools in my opinion.

Except for the fact that Temple Cinn Memphis all have football. so they either look for a new conf completely or try to just move their football program.

when is the NCAA going to step in and say enough is enough? all schools need to be realigned based on sport, location and size. do away with the long horn channel and all these conf network deals and make this whole thing student athletics again. if the schools dont agree to it they can start paying their players and go try to find a new league to play...like the D league

So, if the Big East collapses, what happens to the schools that are now in it?  They still have to be in a league.  It may be weaker but it won't cease to exist.

As far as our tv contract, the Commissioner said he has to wait for the ESPN exclusivity window to close before he can negotiate with any other network.  I'm not sure we've reached that point yet.
