No cell phone working? My parents and sister are on the east end and all have cell reception, but the power will likely be out a long time. Flooding pretty bad all around them. If your loved ones aren't super elderly, I'd say worry just a little. They are OK, just sitting in the dark, and maybe pissed about a wet house if they were close to the water.

thanks buddy.  was not able to get through initially, even on their cells.  and that had me worried.  but have since spoken to them.  needless to say, my heart goes out to all affected.

Feel guilty saying in my town, Wilton Ct, 90% of town without power, but I never lost it. All in all, I wish everybody who is suffering a quick and full recovery.

Massapequa south of merrick was hit hard. Houses took in water. A lot of damage. In helped girlfriends family yesterday. I Thought It would be worse. After a few hours of cleaning up. House was looking better. It will suck for a while but they will get through it.
Most places are stillmwithout power. North massapequa, Bethpage, seaford, no real problems . As far as I know . I hope ever ones ok

Moses must have stood in front of my house because I dodged all water and fallen trees 2 blocks off the water. Seriously blessed to come out flood and damage free.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Please feel free to use site to share, communicate, and post if you're in need of help. This is a community within itself and I hope everyone will help our stj brothers in need.

Like there was no hurricaine in Greenpoint!  Went trick/treating at the storefronts with my kids.  Was great time.  Everybody out and about.  As for Northport, I didn't have any house damage but the no power/heat thing is starting to wear on me with the house sitting in the lower 50 degree range and a cold weekend in the cards.

Where in the BX are you?  Yeah places are tapped.  Was thinking of leaving extra early for work tomorrow hoping some overnight deliveries.  CT supposedly has some.

The fuel trucks will be set up at the Queens Armory, the Bronx Armory, the Brooklyn Armory, the Staten Island/Elizabeth Armory, and the Freeport Armory on Long Island.

Cars can refuel directly off the truck, with a limit of 10 gallons per vehicle. The gasoline will be free.

Generators are also being delivered to gas stations that do not have power and are unable to operate.
