I know it's Concordia...but that line-up (Pointer/Garrett/Sampson/Jones/Obepka) that finished the last 5 minutes of the first half looked awesome!!

4/5 starters not active tonight.

 Harrison, Sanchez.... and who else?

Branch and Bourgault. Well, okay, my starters.

I'm at the game, first half.observations:
Concordia would struggle in many HS leagues.

There have been a few stunning dunks by Jakarr and Jones.  Truly exceptions, and fun.to.watch.
That said we need to drill defensive fundamentals for through.next month.    Wish Dunlap was still around for that.
We help unnecessarily far too often.   Dom and amir are supposed to be great defenders.. Id like to see them be able to lockdown their men... No reason Simpson and Jones should be leaving their own.men to help.

Also... all man to.man so for this preseason.    Wonder if that's a long term plan.

Offensive is fun to watch. No 3 pointers, but Concordia can't compete inside.

Defensively, we are blocking shots. Well, Obekpa is. He's all over the glass. Jones, Pointer and Greene keep giving up wide open shots. That's an area that needs to be addressed.

I was watching Harrison in the warm ups. He's clearly pouting. This isn't a very good example of a lesson well learned. I wonder how Coach will address this after the game because he's going to have to tell us something.

Glad that time with John Lucas was productive. Jeez grow up Kid!

Lol!  I was thinking the same thing.  Poor Baldi.  He would be eating this stuff up.  Hopefully he gets wind of it.  It would put a huge smile on his face. He could probably use the laugh...

Remember how much flak Phil Greene was getting last year on these boards?  Kid is a real player.  I saw enough last year, and he seems to have worked his tail off and has improved quite a bit.  Branch may be coming off the bench come December.

Why would any St. John's fan find the whole D-Lo benching thing amusing?  I'm not drawing any conclusions, but as a die-hard I certainly don't like the appearance of the situation.

You must not be familiar with our friend Marco Baldi.  He's an Iona fan dressed as a Johnny supporter.  Great guy who likes to stir the pot.

Harrison needs to grow up. This is the year he needs to.  A little slap in the face early on is nothing to panic about yet.  If it lingers...well, then we could have an issue.

Haha i hear you Boo.  I know that Baldi likes to stir the pot, but I always viewed him as a Johnnies supporter (even though he obviously loves the Gaels too)

And I agree with you that disciplining your key player early on is nothing to panic about

it looks like we have three very talented freshmen.  ignoring the competition for a minute, what surprised me most was how involved in the offense CO was.  coach said he is making tremendous strides in that regard...and it showed tonight.  whatever offense he gives is a bonus, but i think he will give us more than that.  jones is obviously the real deal.  i'm very excited about the upcoming season.  go st. johns.
