had the opportunity to bump into Sanchez and Branch pre Fordham game.  Based on my brief discussion - no doubt on two points 1) he is extremely frustrated w ncaa not SJU.   Feels sju is doing everything to push the case. 2) has no clue as to timing of a "decision".

While the update is a appreciated shouldn't be posting about contact with players

Why not?

You guys know the rules more than me, if its fine than cool

Its a current player.  Its fine.  They can't buy him dinner or anything.

If a fan with no affiliation to the university and someone who has never donated a penny to the school wants to take a player out to dinner, I am not sure how that would be a violation? Of course the school may frown upon this as it could be a gambler or something for example.

Extra benefit unless he is also taking students from the general population of the school. Can use your position as a scholar athlete to gain benefits a regular student wouldn't get.

From his Facebook.

Orlandito
Solo 7 dias mas para saber que pasara

Translation:
Only 7 more days to see what happens

I think for us it means 1 of 2 things:
A decision is likely to be made this week. Or
If a decision isn't made, he has other opportunities waiting for him

It's when the semester ends. I think he might fly the coop if he doesn't get answer

I wouldn't blame him.  It's unfair not to at least get an answer.

If he s planning to leave if a decision is not made in 7 days, the department should be taking some drastic steps to shed light on the issue with the media

That would be a violation of Orlando's privacy rights

Sheeding light on an organization that is dragging a kid through the mud is, in no way, a violation of Orlando's rights.

To stop the NCAA, we need 2012's Abraham Lincoln.

Now that the NCAA has made its point with Kabongo, who was self-serving and not forthright in coming clean, let's hope the NCAA makes a point by clearing Sanchez since he is a good guy.

I've tried to pay attention but I've never fully understood whether this is a question of Sanchez's eligibilty or defining his status in school (Jr or Sr) for sake of competition.  I take it that it must be about eligibility, or else he'd already be playing since year in school can be sorted out later.

Well I don't think there's anybody left to offer a verdict on, so by default I guess Sanchez is next?  Can't believe it has taken this long.

Orlando was at the Barclay's game dressed in grey sweats as was Branch.

He definitely was not there.
Gift, Hooper and Branch were only 3.

Orlando needs a break. Hopefully, he doesn't need a miracle.

Difference between God and the NCAA--God does not walk around the US thinking he is the NCAA ;)

You must have been seeing things-he most definitely was not in grey sweats with the rest of our ineligibles like he usually is but he may have come as thousands of other St. John's fans did-disguised as empty seats.

He went home for holidays.  No decision either way yet.
