Terrible loss.  Long season.  Hopefully this one doesn't bite us in the arse when it comes to CBI vs. NIT.

According to some this is an NIT team right now.

Jakarr and d'lo can't continue to creat offense for themselves 20 feet out from the basket it's to much to ask. Branch was finding people left and right and you see at the end of the game d'lo does make a stupid pass but didn't have a second option on the court to help him out . Would only hope we see more of branch then Phil Greene going forward.

This would be an unacceptable loss and completely on Coach.

 Horrible second half performance.
Exactly, terrible!!!

tough to stay positive after this one.  maybe this turns the season around like the fordham game.  but that doesn't happen too often.  bottom line...we're not ready for the big east.

We never replaced Dunlap, and please don't tell me we did with Martin.

Honeymoon officially over for Lavs.
Had better correct things really quickly.

Still can't believe what I saw. What an epic choke and terrible coaching and game management down the stretch - this is on Lavin and crew IMHO

8-4 right now best case scenerio 10-8 big east play =  18-12   or   worst case scenerio 6-12 big east play  =  13-15       so I say  best case 18-12 worst case 13-15 entering big east tourney     my prediction 16-14 heading into big east tourney and were a NIT team

We are really missing coach Dunlap out there. This team looks disorganized far too much.

As others pointed out you cannot excuse this game especially considering the huge lead they had and pissed it away.

Just completely unacceptable.  8-4 with that schedule is just not good enough especially considering some of the wins just were ugly in terms of how they came out of the box.

I love Coach Lavin but this is on him and I know it is not in his nature but he needs to stop with the cliches and coach speak and make sure that fans understand that he is not happy and that his team will know this is just not acceptable even a young team.

18 games in the league, plenty of time to make a push.  But this loss hurts bad.

As others said as well I will let my anger subside before I keep posting.

Just thinking about it SJU was outscored by 24 after their 38-21 lead (51-27).  Stunningly bad in the second half.

were gonna be out rebounded all year long and were gonna have trouble scoring when we need it, talent alone will win us a few games but were still missing a piece or two, especially downlow.

Choke city tough one to watch

Several bad decisions.

Stayed with the press far too long, as it wasn't really impeding them (given how well they pass as a team), and was leaving our middle wide open  as our pressers tried to scramble back into a normal D.

COmpletely disagree with ANY limitation on Branch's minutes.   He should have played 40 - he needs every minute of on-court time we can give  him to "catch up".

Do not understand Balamou getting only 3 minutes.    He had two blocks and a deflection for a turnover in those 3 minutes.

There wasn't an adjustment made when they were coming back from the deficit, and we went thru like 5 straight possessions without Jakarr touching the ball.   That's something that Branch was making sure of when HE was in.   Staff shoulda burned a timeout to make the correction.

In the last 2+ minutes, we didn't have Marco in the game.  We needed at least the threat of the 3 from someone other than D'Lo.   I know he's a liability on D, but there was opportunity for some offensive/defensive subbing that should have occurred, IMO.

Other notes - Obbekpa got 6 blocks (amazing, that seems so "ordinary" now - 12 games ago that would have been 1 short of the all time St. Johns single game record!) - but he completely disappeared on the boards in the 2nd half.  8 rebs at halftime, 0 in the 2nd half.

30 seconds to go and we call no TO. We have fouls to give. What was that?

Well done and well said.

Coach has 12 days to fix at least some of these issues.

I'm officially depressed.  That was painful to watch.  Branch should definitely have been on the floor as much as possible.

We need to get rid of that weave at the three point circle.  We do nothing to get the ball inside in the half court offense.  Everything is from the outside unless someone creates for themselves.  Branch made some great passes whwn he was in there and he likely would have made a difference.
