The New Jersey native and St. John's transfer was named first team all-Jayhawk Conference for the West Division after averaging 16.8 points and 7.3 rebounds for 23-8 Barton. He shot 47.8 percent from the field and 31.7 percent from the 3-point line.
"He committed to Houston around Christmas time," said Barton head coach Craig Fletchall. "He played the "3" for us, kind of a 4/3. He can score from the perimeter. I think they want him to play the "3". I'm not really sure how they're going to use him. Houston gets up and down and shoots a lot of threes.
"(College play) will be an adjustment for him, just like it is for any kid. He's going to have to guard better and be a little bit tougher."
Calhoun averaged 5.9 points and 4.0 rebounds in 22.5 minutes as a freshman at St.
