He got poked in the eye during practice and his vision was blurry.  I'm sure they were being cautious because of his recent laser eye surgery.

Why did he get laser eye surgery in the middle of the season??

Real fans who know the truth only post under these conditions:

1) Overtly negative posts about your "favorite program" one after another because that is how you tell the truth

2) Post only after a loss and pretend you care and

3) Introduce yourself under multiple handles to really show who tells the truth.

Word.  The exception to the rule.  Make up a coment after a win to avoid being cast as a loser.

Up to 64 posts combine that with other handles that should get you up to legendary status soon.

Learn to use the quote function correctly.  Helps people ignore your posts easier.

Keep it real.  SJU leans on your every word.

Great job by the team today.  Great effort from everyone especially on the boards and we were able to steal one on the road.

Coming into Saturday’s litmus test at Cincinnati, St. John’s talent wasn’t in question, but its toughness was. The Bearcats’ strengths – rebounding the ball, and finishing off games – were the Johnnies' weaknesses, to be put to the test.

And St. John’s passed with a gut-check that was more hard work than work of art.

CINCINNATI — There’s no question: St. John’s has had a breakthrough.

Facing the 14th-ranked Cincinnati Bearcats in a Big East road game with a hostile crowd, the Red Storm pulled off its biggest win of the season on Saturday. The Johnnies let a big lead slip away and actually trailed by a point in the final minute before D’Angelo Harrison played the role of closer and made the game-winning basket for a 53-52 win before 8,142 at Fifth Third Arena.

Got a feelin....

Not rocket science y'all. Just look at Coach's histry. The only thing consistent about Lav's teams is that they are wildy inconsistent.

One day Earl Watson, Dan Gazuric and Jason Kapono look like they dont know if the ball is full of air or feathers. Next day, they knockin off No. 1 on the road.

Figured Cincy was as good as shot since they is much the same as us.

That said.... D'Lo bailed evryone out wit a prayer.

The half court execution remain beyond pathetic. Just pitiful ball at the end of regulation.

Every single one of us would have signed up for a 1-1 road trip to start Big East play.

Exactly.

I think that shot is overshadowing his game winning jumper a bit.

Great win that had my heart pounding.

The good.......

1.  rebounding came alive
2.  The kids played with intensity from start to finish
3.  Great defense.  The dopy announcers gave us little credit for our defense and kept saying that Cinci was having an off day.
4. While not a great offensive performance, was a great gut check game.
5.  Harrison taking over the game and taking the game winning shot

The not so good.....

1.  Green at the point at the end of the game made some poor decisions
2. Lavin going into the delay offense with 6 minutes to go almost cost us the game.  Cinci was playing poorly, yet we slowed down the game and put them back in it.

The lucky.......
1. Harrison's prayer from the bleechers, bailed out Lavins stall offense and basically won the game.
2. Cinci player's miss on a wide open foul line jump shot with 5 seconds to go

All in all a great gut check win.  Not the prettiest but it shows that these kids are capable of playing harder then they have been and rebounding  better then they have shown.

I don't think Lavin tried to stall.  I just think the kids stalled a bit and lost a little energy.  I believe the stat was given during the game though that Lavin is something like 150-10 record in games with a late lead. 151 now.  While some might not put credence into the stats, those numbers are pretty convincing, so maybe the outcome isnt all in spite of the gameplan.

I agree, and I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned that.
That's a truly incredible stat, and one you don't achieve by accident.

It feels great to pull out a win on the road like that.
I just think its important we as fans keep things in balance.   The win doesnt cover up our warts entirely; all the things we thought needed work after Nova, probably still do need practicing.   But at the same time, this team isn't as bad as the USF loss, and is improving.
Really good win, and great effort by the guys.   Execution? Eh, but that's a discussion for another day.  Today we should just enjoy beating a good ranked team.

I think they did try to stall and they were tired. That is why I feel more substitions should be made. You dont want our best players running out of gass at the end of the game or in foul trouble.

The way I look at it is look at what we can achieve when they work hard on the defensive end and boards. I did not see too much of a shooter all alone to hit a 3 like the Murray State, Baylor, USF, Asheville, and Nova games.

On the other hand, I have always seen Cincinnati as a team just willing to chuck, chuck, and then chuck some more until they hit 33% of their 3's. The difference with this UC team compared to other years is that they don't have a true inside game to rebound and put back. They can board but their interior guys lack the finish.
