"Terrible in-game coaches" don't beat top 15 teams on the road with a team full of freshman and sophomores. Just saying.
You're right, yesterday proved once and for all that Lavin is an excellent in-game coach. The end.
Why is it your goal to make Lavin out to be a bad coach? If you're going to ridicule him every time we lose and question every decision, how about giving him a little credit when he motivates the team to rebound better and beat a top 15 team on the road. I was mocking another poster who stated during the game yesterday that Lavin was a "terrible in-game coach". Nowhere in my above post did I say Lavin was an "excellent in-game coach." I just said he wasn't a terrible one like many here are trying to make him out to be.
Honestly I don't think we've seen enough to make a definitive statement on Lavin's in-game coaching abilities anyway. But, I've seen him outcoached and I've seen him outcoach opponents. And honestly, if you include his first year here, he's outcoached more than he's been outcoached. And he's outcoached some big name coaches. Give all the credit you want to Dunlap but Lavin was the HEAD coach that year.
