Georgetown Game
« on: January 11, 2013, 08:13:42 AM »
Game is Saturday at 11am on Espn2.

Hopefully we can bounce back.  I am hoping to see a few things: 1) More Branch and a lot less Greene 2) Better foul shooting 3) Screens set for Marco 4) A concerted effort to get the ball to Sampson in the post 5) A STJ win

Nice commentary on two struggling programs and a reference to fan unrest at SJU;

First game of the year for WASJU. Anyone know what the deal is with the 11 am start? Going to adversely affect my beer intake

Women play after us.
Rangers were 'supposed' to play at night.
So when schedule was made we wanted ESPN and they offered up 11am.  Extra hour prior to 12 would have helped change the floor for Rangers.  Couldnt change ESPN schedule once they knew there would be no hockey.

Fox sports would have helped us out.  ;D

My Wish List:  1) Try to pentetrate, instead of just passing around the perimeter and letting Harrison force a shot from deep.
                       2) PROTECT THE PERIMITER
                       3) MAKE FREE THROWS
                       4) MORE BRANCH, LESS GREEN
                       5) Threaten the NCAA with a lawsuit if they don't rule on Sanchez already.
                       6) Katherin Webb in the seat next to me rooting for the Johnnies

Ted, are you trying to make us feel bad for the guy who lives in Southern Cali??

How long has it been since you had any precipitation?  Been below 50 lately?

For those god given treasures the price you pay is 10am NFL kickoffs, and in this case an 8am tip off for STJ.
More than a fair deal !  ;D

It was actually 28 at 5 AM this morning, go figure LOL

It rained yesterday too LOL

The 10AM kickoff's are great as football is over by 4PM for the most part.

I was in Hawaii one year during football season and the 7AM kickoff was kind of weird.

Last week Rutgers/Pitt had the same thing though, a 11 AM start at the RAC.

Just need to make some shots early, get a lead, get some turnovers and some easy baskets.

Georgetown will come in a little desperate staring at a 0-3 start and so SJU needs to match their desperation.

Lets hope the early start benefits the home team.

Please let branch get 25 + minutes.

68-52 Georgetown
Harrison does not come off the bench
Greene scores 14 points and finally has a decent shooting game but has to leave early after making himself dizzy dribbling around in a circle
Branch plays 12 minutes
Obepka blocks 9 shots but goes 0-5 from the line
WASJU drinks 8 overpriced, watered down Garden beers

That might be our best hope, unless Gonzalo is going to the game?

I'd guess no earlier than an hour before

I think we come out intense on defense, and build a lead.
We hold on 60-54. Harrison goes crazy. Drops 35.
Branch gets into the flow of the game and runs the offense.
Pointer continues to play well. Has another strong game.

If we play in the first 5 minutes like we did vs. Rutgers, I predict I will be sleeping by 1130am
