They have St. John's at #51.  They predict an 18-12 final record, with a 5-5 finish.  In looking at their predictions, it seems fairly rational, yet I would reverse the outcomes of the Providence and Marquette games.  Thoughts?

They have us winning home games and losing on the road. How did they come up with that? Not how things have gone so far.

I would take 5-5 in a heartbeat.  IMO, we would still need two wins (or finish top 6 in the BE) to get a bid.

Goin nowhere witout signature wins to cancel out Ashville, etc. Cincy and ND are aight, but they fadin in luster.

And I went back and looked at the last 5 years.  42 was the lowest RPI to be excluded.  The other 4 years, it was mid to high 40's.

If you around .500 in your Top 6 conf wit double digit losses and barely around 20 Ws and dont make headline type wins durin the year.... y'all gonna be sittin in March.

Bottom line is this:

St. John cannot simply take care of business from here on out and expect an invite.

They dug theyselves deep, deep, deep into a hole and they gotta dig theyselves out.

Right now, they on level 4 of Dig-Dug and they gotta get theyselves to level 10.

A road win at Cincy is a good win. 

Here is what they need to do and NOW they will probably do the opposite. LOL!!!

Obviously if they beat either Syracuse or Louisville on the road that is HUUUUGGGE.  Short of that, beat DePaul at home and go to 6-3.  Go 5-4 over the second half.  Do that by sweeping the 4 home games (USF, Marquette, Pitt and UCONN). 

Win 1 more road game, preferably either ND or Georgetown.  They also have Providence on the road and any win on the road is good but obviously that wouldn't be big time quality. 

That gets you to 19-11, 11-7 in the conference (Win 2 of 3 against ND, Georgetown and PC and now you are 12-6).  How many 11-7 teams in the Big East with 7-8 top 100 wins including a top 30-35 win on the road didn't make the NCAA's, especially with an expanded field?

Bottom line is this:

Agreed.  I posted a hypothetical scenario but at the end of the day they just need to keep building on these mini-successes and don't look past the game right in front of them.

I don't think StJ deserves to get in, but just to play devil's advocate, West Virginia was 19-13 last year with a 9-9 Big East Record.  That's borderline.  Maybe level 6 of Dig-Dug?

Agree Choz.  I also think a lot of those games on our schedule aree quite winnable, especially uconn, Pitt and Marquette at home. Notre dame and Georgetown also beatable, but tough on the road.  I think we can beat Notre dame again though.
