Hey, it's the BE. A win is hard to earn against anyone. Depaul played inspired ball.
Thankfully, we have a shining knight on our side to rescue us from ourselves.

Sir Dom, you're a stud. Reminded me of Lavor Postell tonight.

Postell is an apt description.  Dom does whatever it takes to win.

Some guys explode as stars right out of the gate.  But some start out just merely "good" and build from their.  And keep on building.   Dom is old school.  Gonna be better still as a Junior and just plain scary-good as a senior.

And will then play in the NBA!

We won without our closer, Harrison, in the game for the last 9 minutes!  Dom & JaKarr stepping up in OT, with Dom having another double double was very encouraging.  GTown is next.  Let's keep it rolling!

Not a great win at all. Take it but heads should be down. This DePaul team got taken apart by Pitt days ago and it was ugly.
Play like this against Gtown and it will not be pretty.

Just got back.  Not our best performance against a scrappy DePaul team, but it's still a win.  We will need to play better to get requisite wins for post season.  Time to keep grinding and hopefully play better.  Go Redmen!

By the way, in spite of their BE record, Depaul is light years better than they were last years and the previous few years.  Now they have several other options besides Melvin.

That was a tough one to watch.  Glad we got the win.  I feel like in past years we definitely lose that game and the fact that we held on (without our best player) gives me a lot of hope for the future.  Good days are in our future

Positives:

Obepka upped his FT% with a 1-4 performance.

Was so exhausted after getting home, I did not post. All in all, my son and I had a great time watching Johnnies scratch one out. Have to admit I thought we were "doomed" in OT wo Harrison. Shame on me! Team has flaws obviously, schedule getting tough now, but I love seeing these guys grow.

I think Depaul was better last year. We are more talented than them, and have been for years now, but they move around on offense. We still do this Brian Mahoney statue crap.

Nice win! Pointer and Greene have improved and are really helping the team on both sides of the ball. Sampson has a very high ceiling. Keep rollin Redstorm keep rollin!

How confident was everyone that Sampson would have hit one of the free throws if the call at end of regulation stood?

That's true. Pointer is certainly getting his props, but Greene has had to step up lately because Branch is out of control, and careless. Greene's jumper is falling, and he even started to take it strong to the basket.

Harrison played like a freshman last night. He has to be smarter about committing senseless fouls. Good thing is he knows it.

I thought overall we got the benefit of some truly horrible calls. That being said I thought the 5th foul was a pretty weak call.

I agree.  It seems from this thread that a lot of posters felt the opposite.  Although I really thought the time Harrison got knocked down going for the rebound was a bad no call for StJ.

They were fighting for a rebound, almost side by side, it wasn't like Dee came over his back. It should have been ball out of bounds and give the ball to DePaul.
