Watched him today against huge Montverde team. Although just one game, he was out of control, forced it a lot and showed a need to improve outside shot. BTw, Dakari Johnson is really developing.
Your scouting report on Mudiay makes him sound NBA ready right now.  :)

Interview by Arizona Rivals site.  He names 8 of the 10 finalists including SJU.

I think we will be in this race.  Branch connection is there and we have hit Texas hard with Harrison and Jones as well.   May end up being a finalist for our highest rated recruit ever.  Let's hope we stay in it...

Emmanuel Mudiay is a BEAST - 6'5 point guard with vision and bounce - Prime Prep

Take it FWIW, from Kentucky Rivals site:

- Emmanuel Mudiay - Potentially Calipari's favorite prospect to watch in the 2014 class (other than committed forward Karl Towns), Mudiay drew the attention of multiple Kentucky coaches Friday night as his Texas Pro team took the court in Hampton. Mudiay had a big scoring night, but it was his openness to reporters afterward that was surprising. In an exclusive interview with Cats Illustrated and Rivals' North Carolina State team site, The Wolfpacker, Mudiay announced that he plans on taking visits soon to Kentucky, Arizona, North Carolina State, Baylor and SMU, leading to logical speculation that those schools stand out the most among the five-star point guard's 10 finalists.

Assume you mean under Lavin, b/c if not you're forgetting about a guy named Felipe Lopez.

Yes, I meant under Lavin.  Sorry for leaving that out.  And fwiw, sooner or later these kids are going to learn that the smoke and mirrors of Cal and UK isn't the only route to the NBA.  Their NIT exit this year displayed that just lumping top 10 kids together isn't always a recipe for instant success.  It's just an All-Star team.  Those kids have the talent and could display it anywhere.

“@SteveJones_CJ: John Calipari and Orlando Antigua now watching Emmanuel Mudiay's game for Texas Pro. Larry Brown here, too.”

“@SteveJones_CJ: Emmanuel Mudiay said he had John Calipari in for a home visit on Wednesday”

Not counting on getting this kid, but we have other great options.

"Emmanuel Mudiay, the No. 2 prospect in the Class of 2014, says there are several schools he wants to visit.

Playing at the Boo Williams EYBL stop in Hampton, Va., the 6-foot-4 point guard from Dallas Prime Prep told reporters he wants to visit Arizona, Baylor, Kentucky, N.C. State and SMU, according to Corey Albertson of Rivals.

Mudiay’s brother, Stephane Mudiay, added during a phone interview with SNY.tv that Louisville, Oklahoma State and St. John’s were also in the mix."

We have to win in order to get to the next level of recruits.  Lavin has hit top 25 already...top ten is next after a nice tourney run.

This one is very nice to be mentioned but obviously going to be tough to get.

Cal is all over this kid.

“@EvanDanielsFOX: Emmanuel Mudiay has it going. Best I've seen him. Unreal physical attributes for PG. Showing off vision + making shots.”

“@EvanDanielsFOX: One college coach just told me he thinks Emmanuel Mudiay will be the No.  1 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.”

You gotta figure he knows the Harrison twins.  Won't hurt Cal's recruiting efforts when 2 Texas guys go top 10 in next years draft.

The point guard is legit but the other Harrison, Aaron, is overrated.

Said the same thing. They always rank twins together. I'd take rysheed over aaron. Doesn't mean he's not good, just not top 5-10 good.

That, and Boehim retiring, would be a perfect storm, pun intended.

The SG go the short end of the stick.  He's not a top ten talent.
